They should have never adapted his backstory tbh. Especially since all later manga mentions of Gyro from here on out are removed in the anime lol. It's like, either adapt everything with him or cut him out completely, don't do both ffs. Tbh this is my one and only problem with this adaptation. Everything else is great.
