GIANT ROBOT! Kuvira's attack on Republic City begins as we venture toward the final episodes of Korra! Turns out Kuvira views her goal of an Earth Empire higher than even her own personal happiness perhaps. Or maybe an Earth Empire is the only thing that would truly make her happy? Not sure how I feel yet about Korra taking on a giant robot but we'll wait until the finale before making any final thoughts on this climax.

Assuming you guys have seen the finale, did guys talk about the significance of the final scene or have you not gotten there yet. And if not, are you gonna have chris or navi join in on the finale reaction?

I remember back in S3 when the Earth Queen complained about those "stolen Earth Kingdom lands", but who would've thought Kuvira would bring that issue up again and as her reason for wanting to attack RC. I guess like the Earth Queen, she isn't going to let this "grave injustice" go as well. Remember at the end of "Battle of Zaofu" when Kuvira told Bataar to "begin dismantling the domes"? Yep, it was to make this giant mech. Bataar is a lovesick fool and I honestly pity him. Kuvira does love him, but she doesn't love him as much as he loves her, and not to the point of actually giving up her goal for him. In the end, she cares more for uniting her empire.

That mecha-giant was made from the platinum domes from Zaofu. That is why Kuvira planned to take those down since earlier episodes. I am little disappointed that you did not realize that.

I am supposed to be hyped about this, but at the end of the reaction video i was not satisfied for several reasons(except for Rana who seemed so hyped lol and Nahid with his interesting explanations ). I felt like the rest of them did not have that excitement vibe in my opinion. and Micky again with his solution of metalbending to everything-.-

It's hard to get excited about giant robots anymore IMO. But I think this show handles it well without doing yet another giant mech battle.

Fun fact about Nickelodeon fucking up with this franchise: they used to play ATLA episodes out of order during reruns, and at the time it was one of their lower rated shows. when the writers and creators asked them to try and play the episodes in order so new viewers could catch on to the continuity, they basically went “oh yeah sure!” And continued to play them out of order. This went on for years until one day they finally played them in order, and it became their highest rated show lmaoooo. Basically they definitely didnt realize they had something worth milking or even just...paying a normal amount of attention to. This pretty much continued with Korra, with the frequent budget cuts, not giving them a full season initially, taking it off air, etc

One of the things that makes Kuvira an interesting villain to me is that she believes so much in what she is doing that she's willing to even sacrifice people she loves for it. It's awful of course, but interesting.
