The sceptics on the couch are wrong, but I understand it as I was too when I first saw it. After episode 4 you won't think it's silly anymore. Persist, it will be one of your all time favorites.

Very important. Brotherhood assumes you have seen the first series (even though the first series differs once you meet Greed). Which is why is rushes through the early plot points, ie Mayes, the corrupt preacher and utterly skips Yoki's first encounter with the Elrics

I believe you should give at least the first 4 episodes a shot. I'm watching a few reactors who are into this show and that seems to be the spot where the stakes begin to rise.

gotta keep with it, trust us

For the record, this anime was ranked as one of the best Animes of all time, fighting for #1.

Getting this almost a week early? NICE! Man, I'm so glad Ben is there lol I'm assuming by now you guys have reacted to a few more episodes (?) so hopefully the show has reeled you guys more in.

Chris is gonna love FMA:B! It's probably the only japanese anime that has A LOT of parallels to Avatar. FMA:B is like Avatars grittier older cousin. I'm not crazy about anime' s either but FMA:B and Avatar are both my favorite shows for all the same reasons.

The difference between the two anime’s is that the first one was following the manga at first but then it caught up with the manga and the people making it didn’t want to stop so they went their own way with it but brotherhood is how the manga actually finished

Still think Steven Universe would have been a a better one cause saw both Full metal series and to me, they lose track a lot of their objective which most anime do and plenty of predictable occurrences in it. just my opinion hehe

We have seen two more episodes and will binge watch more in two weeks. - Navi

Really? FMAB to me is a very cohesive, well-written story. Arakawa put a lot of work and research into what she created. It actually reminds me a lot of ATLA. If anything, I'm pretty sure most people even recommended FMAB because of that. Whenever a reactor finishes watching ATLA or FMAB, the other is usually recommended for their next watch. Also, to be completely honest, I don't really understand how FMAB lost track of their objective? Without getting into spoilers, I can understand if you would feel that way with FMA seeing as halfway through, they ran out of content and literally had to make things up as they went but FMAB? FMAB followed the finished manga very faithfully. It kept to its objective BUT like any journey story, of course there were going to be things that came along and would expand that objective a bit. In the end though, FMAB still kept to what was originally established as a goal but with a bit more added. As for predictable occurrences, I guess it depends on each person because for me, there was a lot more twists and turns than predictable outcomes.

This was my first official anime series I got into and at the time, I still had my own prejudices about anime but that quickly went away as I kept watching. So for me, FMAB holds a very special place in my heart because of what it opened my eyes to :)

Well shit, I take back everything I said about only subscribing for this month, if you're going to be doing FMAB!

I'll most certainly be looking forward to these reactions. It's literally the most recent anime series I just finished and thought it was wonderful. I don't know why it didn't occur to me at first, but it was refreshing when it finally clicked that I was watching a show with a fully defined beginning and end. Just previous to FMAB I watched through one punch man and my hero academia and enjoyed the shit out of both (attack on titan too now that I think on it), but those are continuing stories at this moment (same with GOT for that matter) and a story that has a legit beginning and end turned out to be very satisfying. Tangential note, be prepared for things to get daaaark. I think of OPM and MHA as largely upbeat romps, so FMAB really gnawed at my soul coming directly afterwards. I like shows with the ability to evoke that level of emotion from me.
