#Sundayrundown Suraj asked why Riley is not insecure with Sam but he was with Buffy. People keep thinking that Riley main problem was that buffy was stronger but that was not it as clearly Sam seems like a better fighter then him. He says in 5x10 that it does get to him sometimes but it was never the main issue. He just thought he needed to be strong to stay in buffy's life because that was the only way he could be close to her. Sam had a understanding of Riley's emotional needs and even seemed to read willow, dawn and Buffy's needs as well. She gave willow some confidence in herself, she made dawn feel like she was not a child that needs protecting and she tried to help buffy regain some self esteem. She showed vulnerability with everyone around her while still being strong. Which is all Riley ever really wanted in his woman. Buffy could not give him that and he has accepted that and even gave advice on how to get out of the spiral he was in. Buffy still needs to tell her friends about her vulnerabilities right now but she got over a big hurdle by ending things with spike.

I wonder how Sam would have approached Buffy if she was in Riley's place during Joyce's illness.

All this talk saying that Spike doesn’t truly love Buffy or that it’s not “real love” is not true, in my opinion. I do believe Spike is completely and truly in love with Buffy. Is it perfect and pure? No, of course not. But love is portrayed in so many different ways. It can be toxic and irrational, but it doesn’t mean that the person feeling it isn’t in “real love.” Even Drusilla says last season “We can love quite well. If not wisely.” Or Angelus “to kill this girl, you have to love her.” Comparing him to Angel doesn’t work either. Even Ensouled Angel didn’t have perfect, pure love for Buffy. She was a teenager when they got together, he stalked her for a full year before he introduced himself(and while they were together), and would go into her private space without permission. Buffy was young and naive so she thought it was romantic… but as this season has shown us, just because we have a soul, it doesn’t make us a “good” person. In saying all this, I’m not excusing anyone’s behavior or saying they should stay together. They’re clearly using each other for different reasons and it’s not healthy for either of them. Buffy realized this, but Spike will let himself be used because he feels it’s the only way he can be close to her.

Poor Micky. He's the first to pick up on Joss Whedon's mission to destroy Cordelia's character because of behind the scenes drama building during Angel filming... I'm so sorry Mickey, it only gets worse, not better :(

Wesley’s attitude this episode annoyed me. It’s giving… incel. He seems annoyed at Gunn at because Fred isn’t into him?

Despite his badassness, Slade Wilson will always be on the all time creepy list of comic book characters. The Slade Wilson/Terra relationship is pretty f'd up. Their "partnership" is something you would see on iceberg youtube videos pertaining to the topic of F'd up comic book things.
