It's almost September and that means a brand new Patron & Channel Member Event! I would like to invite all of you to take part in the Lord of Jank Competition. The winner of this competition will get one of the 25 awesome Timmy alters!

How do I sign up?

You can sign up for this tournament by..

  • leaving a reply to this post;
  • message me on Patreon;
  • sending an e-mail to sorcererprodigal@gmail.com ;
  • send a message via Discord;
  • leave a reply on the channel member community line on YT (for channel members).

You have until the 13th of September to sign-up.

What are the tournament dates?

The tournament starts on the 13th. I hope that all the matches in the Swiss round can be finished in the month of September, so that is until September 30. I want to organise the top8 matches in the weekend of October 3rd, with the finals on Sunday the 4th of October.

How is the tournament organised?

The players will be divided in groups of 4/5 players based on the time-zone and number of participants. Each game won is 1 point. That means that you can lose with 1-2 and still earn 1 point. After the group stage we will have a top 8.

The players can contact each other and organise their match. I will create a Google Spreadsheet with all the groups and add an e-mail of each player so that you can contact them and set a date for a match. It is also a good idea to join the Timmy Discord to get in touch with the players in your group. You can join via this link, https://discord.gg/xRJPjzm

What deck can I play?

To join this competition you need to create a budget deck.

  • Create a budget decklist of 60 cards with a 15 card sideboard
  • The deck should not cost more than $200
  • The individual cards can not be over $20

Send your decklist, deckpicture or link to  sorcererprodigal@gmail.com with the total cost of your deck and the deck name. If this is the same as the deck you created for the Budget Brew Challenge you can simply refer to that brew.

What if I don't have the cheapest version?

You can play with the cards you have and for the pricing you can choose the cheapest version of the card that you can find (but remember same art same frame).

What sets can I brew with?

For this challenge you can brew with ABU, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends and The Dark, and you can use re-prints as long as it's same art and same frame. So feel free to use cards from 4th Edition, time shifted, foreign cards etc.

To make it a little bit harder for you, I have not included FE in this challenge. So you can not put any cards from the Fallen Empires expansion in your decks.

What rule set do we follow?

We follow the modern MTG rules. So that means no mana burn for this event.

What website should we all use for pricing?

Cardmarket.com (low) is the website that I use. You can also use other price lists, but I use this website to determine whether or not your deck is under the $200 and if every card on your list is below $20.

Can the World Championship Gold bordered versions of cards be used for this?

Yes

Are foreign language and IE/CE versions allowed?

Yes

When is the deadline to sign up?

You have until the 13th of September to sign-up.

Do you still have burning questions about the competition? Leave a reply or contact me on Discord.

Damn, that's the week I'm going on my honeymoon, and the week after I have my grandkid.
