Yeah, I finally got to watch your reaction! This is one of my favorite movies, I am going to try to keep it as brief as I could talk about this movie and Star Trek forever. 1. Cute skit, it was great to see a cameo from Jane and Cheyenne later. 2. This movie has epic casting. I fell in love with all the actors and had to watch every movie they ever came out in. Especially Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell and Justin Long. I had the biggest crush on Justin Long because of this movie. This movie is based mostly on the original series, the reality and some blown out rumors from the behind the scenes, between the actors. Shatner did have lines rewritten or taken out sometimes in the original series if he felt it took the spotlight away from Cap't Kirk. There's lots of stories. I have gone to lots of conventions and I have been on 2 Star Trek Cruises, so lots and lots of stories. Just think of back when the original Star Trek fans, started Star Trek conventions after the show was cancelled you can imagine Leonard Nimoy being very much like Alexander in this movie. "Live long and prosper" "If I have to say that line one more time" Of course over the years they learn to embrace and appreciate it. They appreciate the fans recognizing all their accomplishments though. I have been able to see (not meet) all the actors except Leonard Nimoy and Deforest Kelley. I was able to meet James Doohan and a small convention before he passed away. He called me "lassie" Okay see I'm drifting. Sorry. 3 Jefferies Tubes are the name of the crawl ways (actually oriinally designed so you could stand up in them and be able to fix the ship's system) They are named after the designer of the Enterprise and he was the art director of the orig. series I believe. 4. "Not for Galaxy Quest" when you said you weren't going to cry, I was crying already, that is a very sad moment, and I also cry out of enjoyment and happiness, at the end.

I’m happy you enjoyed this film. I’m not a huge Star Trek fan, but I do like sci-if and found this entertaining. I know some people thought it was too cheesy or “dumb,” but like you I walked away from it feeling good. It wasn’t gross, it wasn’t scary, it was what it was meant to be- a cute parody that also paid homage to a huge community of fans. Which I think is great!
