Nahh, teenage girls can be ruthless 💀 I guess them saying "lesbian disease" is a bit on the nose and probably not an insult teenagers would use, so I blame the writing.. but homophobia, especially at an all girls school isn’t far fetched at all. I get you about the self-reflection and possible internalised homophobia in how you see Charlie - Yeah, that could be part of it and is also an ongoing discourse within the fandom.. not just about Charlie vs Nick but even with the actors who are respectively out as gay and bi with one more "straight presenting" Personally, I think Charlie's character makes total sense rn. He’s been through bullying and a toxic relationship at the age of 14 and has never gotten help for it. I think it’s a bit deeper than him just being presented as some"dainty twink" without a backbone. It’s slow pace with him as an individual but I like that we get to see him heal and grow throughout the comics/seasons of the show, rather than brushing the trauma under the carpet. Also like that they’re not pretending a relationship magically fixes Charlies personal issues. But yeah, all that doesn’t mean it’s not frustrating to see him internalize his emotions so much and not fight back more. SCREAMING at how much you hate Tao 😂
