Well, there is a way to drink blood from people and not kill them. The snatch-eat-erase method Damon often used in tvd and taught Elena. If the vampire learns control, they can take what they need, heal the person, and make them forget like nothing happened. Antoinette chooses not to do that and that's part of her character. I like her too, I think the actress did a fantastic job. I agree when it comes to Hayley and Elijah too, their chemistry is lacking. The thing is, they had SO MUCH chemistry in season 1. At least for me. It's always strange when I rewatch an episode from there and smile whenever they are on screen, then feel indifferent the rest of the seasons. Not exactly sure when things went wrong with them, but I guess the show didn't feel invested enough in them anymore, they had so many episodes with very little scenes. Their kissing scenes were often quick, not on a passionate way, but in the "I need to go run to the next scene, so can we do this and continue with the actually important things" kind of way. There wasn't much emotion there. There was always a reason to give up on each other, and if they aren't invested enough in the relationship, why should I be. Still love them both, but not necessarily ship them like I used to.

Yes, Elijah's bloodline is dead too
