I hate this episode honestly... the next one is definitely more interesting

The kid going off on his own is pretty foolish, but overall I think this is a harmless and fun story. This was filmed in the City of Arts and Science in Valencia, Spain, which is where all the futuristic architecture came from; it's a really beautiful location.

Always skip this one on the rewatch because of the ending 🤦‍♂️ really enjoying the doctor and bill's friendship, makes the episodes more about the story and less about the tension between the two

Evan!!

I really liked the part of the episode where it's Bill and the Doctor slowly figuring out what's going on and having them piece it all together. You get a bit of insight into how the Doctor thinks and we see Bill learning and internalizing stuff from it. Really lovely stuff. The ending is just bizarre though, idk what that's about.

Decent episode. The Doctor and Bill's establishing bond shines the most here. I think the most interesting part is when Bill and The Doctor start to unravel the mystery regarding the colony, Vardy and human history. I particularly like the scenes with Bill discovering the book as well as pushing questions towards The Doctor to get more of an insight on his mind. The ending is really awful though. The resolution feels very rushed with the reset button. The conflict between the humans and Vardy ends abruptly before it can even begin with the "flick of a switch" solution which I really didn't like. It doesn't last long enough to warrant that. The Doctor telling the colonists to negotiate with the Vardy is also bizarre because that's not something that can be easily forgotten by the colonists (even with the robot's memories being wiped). It's also really weird how The Doctor and Bill didn't watch over the kid. They just let him roam free to danger even though they knew the colony wasn't safe due to the Vardy killing people who don't express happiness. It's like they immediately forgot him until he was in danger. Very bizarre. The ending as whole is really rushed and lets the episode down a bit which is a shame. Moffat seems to think the browser history joke is funny but it gets old after hearing it for the third time lol.
