Just fyi The Rebekah body swap happened because Clair Holt only had signed a contract for the first season (and before only thought that she would be there for a few episodes in TVD) and she didn't wanna return. So they got her guestarring in this episode and swapped her body

2021-08-19 08:27:42 I had no idea about TVD & that contract; but for TO, I know she wanted to be there, she just didn't want to be away from home for too long at a time either, so she can also focus on her family. So, the body swap was the solution & she can still keep returning.
