Here I am😂.. I agree with you 100%.. And maybe my bias is coming from a place and person who has seen the entire series.. But I will always root for them... And honestly, I give Ian all the credit... I never thought for a moment that Ian was going to Mexico, even after the last episode ended.. But I didn't want to be a spoiler... Even from the first time I watched it years ago... I believe Ian decided that he was going to take that ride.. Take a couple days off of work... Because like you said, he do love him... So just be with him.. F**K as much as possible... Because he knew he probably would never see him again.. He just didn't tell Mickey that he was only going to the border.. And not across it with him... And even though hurt... I totally believe Mickey understood where Ian was coming from... But he also knew he had to leave.... And I live in Texas... It is very much that easy to get in Mexico.... Now on your return.. When you get to the checkpoints.. They will ask to see your I.D.. and ask you why was you visiting.. Meaninless questions...small talk while the dogs are around your vehicle.. If the dogs don't detect anything, you never have to get out your car...coming or going..... Very beautiful place, you should visit sometimes... And no, no passport needed to enter Mexico🇲🇽😊.. Nice reaction.. And have a safe 4th of July❗❗

I honesly agree with everything you said about Mickey, but i can't help it. I just love him and i love him with Ian.

I think even the biggest stans will agree that Ian made the right decision on not crossing the border, because love doesn't conquer ALL, realistically. But it never put doubt in our heads that they were perfect for either, its just the circumstances didn't align, but they really convinced themselves that it would, because they wanted it so bad. cause Ian never had a problem with who Mickey is as a person, he just didn't want them to be hiding, but it took him awhile to realize that's what he'd be doing and he quickly changed gears. But. Yeah this is the perfect case of "Right person, wrong time"

I think a lot of Ian and Mickey fans can agree that Ian did the right thing here and honestly him doing this is him breaking that Ouroboros metaphor. I said this in the last episode, but Ian tends to be easily swayed by his need for approval/validation despite being one of the more sensible, responsible characters on the show. A lot of his past relationships with older men was focused on this, with Kash and Ned using their authoritative positions and gifting him, essentially grooming him (again, this is not at all Ian's fault since he's just a kid, a lot of grooming behavior tends to exploit these kinds of insecurities). We then see Ian move on to Caleb and Trevor who seem like a good fit. They both are around his age, have jobs, and are seen as respectable men that their community looks up too (Caleb as a firefighter, Trevor as a LGBT+ youth advocate). An argument can be said that Ian is trying to find some kind of validation/approval from them which is fair given the fact that he's grown up in Fiona and Lip's shadows. Then Mickey comes along and now Ian is drawn back to him because he's the only one who has put him on top of his priority list almost every time. All his other exes have either not done so or not to the same degree (only Mickey has really been by Ian at his lowest point when he was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder), and I feel like Ian, despite knowing Trevor is busy, gravitates back to Mickey because of that emotional connection and also the fact that he knows that Mickey will place him above anything else. After all, Mickey did say that there wasn't anyone else he cared about, not even his family. The only person he cares for is Ian which is why he stopped by to see him first before crossing to Mexico, and again we see that kind of approval/validation Ian wants lead him back towards him despite his common sense telling him not to. This is especially prevalent in the last episode where he asks Fiona what she would have done if she ran off with Steve. Ian knows it's wrong, but he's drawn back to Mickey because of that approval/validation he gets from him. When he makes that decision to not cross with Mickey, that's him finally listening to himself, listening to reason. That's him finally stopping himself from eating his own tail. That's him saying that he can't always find the approval/validation from someone else, especially from someone like Mickey who seems to place Ian above everyone else in most cases. That's him saying he needs to find approval/validation elsewhere, and hopefully he realizes that it comes from himself. And this kind of also parallels with Lip's situation. For so long we see Lip eating his own tail, turning away any kind of opportunity for help or a leg up. He always self-sabotages and expects someone to lift him back out only to drag himself back down. It's not quite like the approval/validation Ian seeks, but it's similar in that Lip kind of expects someone to give him some advice or something to get him back on his feet (example Youens constantly giving him internships despite getting losing them, or walking out from his busboy job only to come back, etc.). However, this time, it's Brad who helps him back out of the pit he dug himself. However, instead of going back down to drag Lip back up from that rut he's in, he tells Lip that the only way he'll be able to get out and stay out is if he does it himself. Now it's Lip's turn to to decide whether he wants to stop eating his own tail and get the help he needs or continue the cycle. It's Brad telling Lip that yes you're a smart guy, but you can't always take shortcuts or expect someone to give you a leg up, you need to put in the work yourself if you want to get better. Fiona is back at a crossroads. She obviously feels bad for putting Etta in a nursing home, but she also is realizing that she has to make tough decisions if she wants to continue down this path to self-improvement. Fiona has always been the one to be the caretaker of her siblings, so its expected for her to be conflicted with her decision. Debbie is surprisingly becoming more responsible this season, so I think we can say that she is gradually breaking out of her own cycles of dependency.

I love Mickey + Ian, but goddamn thank you for everything you've said about them. I disagree with some of it but I honestly can't believe some gallavich fans get so mad at ian for not leaving with Mickey. Mickey asking Ian to run away with him was incredibly selfish, in the same way him going after Sammi was selfish. Ian didn't ask him to do any of those things yet he expects Ian to follow him and say thank you. I'm going through your videos on Shameless right now and decided to comment on this one finally lol but been enjoying them so far!

Thanks for watching! Hopefully you continue to enjoy the rest of the Shameless reactions after this😂😅
