I was going to go to bed and then this popped up. As you watch this season remember the first line of this episode, "This is a love story." If the first season was a treatise on grief, this season is all about love. Not just romantic love, but love in all its incarnations. Not all loves are pretty and pleasant, but all of these broken people are searching for love in one or more forms, and we get to share in their beautiful, messed up journeys. If you ask me to name a "perfect" season of television, this is top of mind. I binged it when it first came out and said that afterwards I felt like I'd just watched a really amazing play, which is a very different feeling than any season of tv has ever given me. It's very special.

This might be my favourite episode. I love how smoothly the dialogue goes. They mastered the third wall here too. Totally agree with a lot of what you said. Fleabag is the black sheep of the family and the only honest one. Everyone else except for the Godmother I’d say are so in denial. Such brits. I love Fleabag just saying the bare minimum. Before it seemed like she enjoyed making conversations awkward and playing games with the god mother. In this episode all that is beneath her and “not worth it”. It’s such a damned if you do and damned if you don’t thing because if though she was staying out of it she got brought back in. With Martin thinking she proved him right yuck. Gosh I feel bad for anyone with a Martin in their life. I just couldn’t take that.

Apparently Season 1 was always supposed to be a standalone series but as time went on she figured out what she wanted to do with Season 2. I really love this episode. It's very tight and very funny.
