Wanna say that it’s really appreciated that you keep continuing this series- I’m sure the lack of attention with S4 has been a little off putting- however I’m equally sure the comments have previously conveyed the prominent criticism of this last season, so one can understandably associate that towards the drop. Hopefully you enjoy the remainder of it though, if you keep going!

This is the best episode of Miracle Day. Genuinely the only episode that I like in this fourth series. This episode has such a different vibe to the other episodes. I feel like Miracle Day would have been so much better if it had more episodes like this. Jack and Angelo's romance story is sweet but tragic, there's a great sense of adventure and mystery with the alien parasite, the setting is really enchanting and beautiful plus there's a lot of dark and unsettling material with Jack's torture. This was the episode I was looking forward to seeing you watch and I'm glad it intrigued you. Regarding the alien parasite, Jack says that the Trickster's Brigade is responsible for trying to change history. This actually connects back to Series 4 of Doctor Who. If you remember the episode called Turn Left, there was a fortune teller that targeted Donna through a time beetle which latched onto her back and manipulated time by creating a parallel world around her where The Doctor died which caused chaos to the world. The Trickster's Brigade (The Fortune teller, time beetle, alien parasite etc.) are basically a group of beings that desire and try to change history but altering the details of individuals and people's lives. Just like they did with Donna in Turn Left and what they attempted to do with the future president in this episode. The Trickster's Brigade are led by their leader who is called The Trickster. I won't go into much detail about this but what I will say is that we get to learn more about this in The Sarah Jane Adventures. It gets explored more with Sarah Jane. I think your explanation at the end perfectly sums up why I don't like Miracle Day. It just doesn't feel like Torchwood at all. I probably would like this better if it was a different series but to me, it just feels like Gwen and Jack have stepped into a different show. I also don't like Rex and Esther as much as Ianto, Tosh and Owen. I actually liked Vera better than Rex and Esther but they killed her off which sucked as she was the best new character. I also have other issues with the story but I might save that complaint for later when you finish lol.
