Lol, this episode was so funny. I don't remember much about this season but it has been very entertaining so far. Everything about Damon this episode was so funny poor man nothing ever is simple with him is tragic but so funny at the same time, I am very impressed with how good he has handled everything this season so far, he has come a long way. I remember thinking how stupid was when I first watched the doppelganger thing because everybody was now a doppelganger basically but now is not that crazy I find it very interesting actually, in this universe when everything can happen it makes sense. Is so entertaining all the drama with Qetzya and Silas and Amara. I love the destiny thing with Elena and Stefan is so romantic I always enjoyed them as a couple but I also love the situation of to challenge fate and the universe with Damon that was so sweet of him I love Elena with either of them that I just like them all three together lol.

Yay we finally met Qetsiyah! It’s funny bc last ep you were talking about how it would only make sense to have Qetsiyah show up and I was thinking lol just wait till next episode! We also found out the name of Silas’s one true love, Amara, and that she is also a doppelgänger. It’s so cool how we only see her for a second and yet we can tell she’s different from the others. She just looks so angelic. I wanted to point out that the other girl you were thinking of is Tatia. She’s the one that was involved with Klaus and Elijah, and whose blood Esther used for the vampire spell. They mentioned her in s3. They introduced a cool idea about how the universe pulls doppelgängers together, creating a new obstacle in Damon and Elena’s relationship. And obviously Damon acts like he doesn’t care, but deep down I think it’s clear he still buys into it. It digs right into his insecurities about him and Elena haha. I LOVE the scenes between Katherine, Elena, and Damon. I think she just brings a refreshing vibe to the show and honestly everything she said was true. Classic Kath trying to cause trouble and fuck with everyone’s minds.

Lulu

Also idk if you noticed but when Silas was talking to Amara he says "When I look at you, all I see is an angel" and that's almost exactly what Stefan said to Katherine in a flashback. Again, alluding to the bond the doppelgängers seem to have.

Qetsiya is 100% that bitch and I love her for it. I find it so interesting how this show creates these really interesting and compelling female villains/antagonists/antiheroes without ever even trying to really redeem them but yet bends over backwards to justify the male characters' behavior by making them "uwu sad" :D Qetsiyah is another example of this in this episode, Maybe that's why I love her and Katherine so much more than Damon or Klaus.

To answer your questions regarding the travellers, nadia is a traveller, but travellers can also be vampires,.....silas was a traveller, but when he drank the immortality elixer,he got his mental powers, he us NO LONGER a traveller,as long as he is immortal.

suveemi

I love Qetsiya ! Can't wait for the next episodes. Travellers are some kind of "witches" (otherwise Qetsiya and Silas couldn't do magic) Nadia is a Traveller but was turned into a Vampire you can she the veins under her eyes in the bar when Elena attacs her. With the Doppelgänger thing I'm not sure if they need kids because this would mean Silas also has had a child before Qetsiya put him in the tomb. But like they said the Doppelgängers are natures way to cope with this kind of immortallity/ natures loophole so I think it would totally make sense if they 1. just pop up or 2. they pop up in the familiy lines (which I think is true). Because than it would not matter if Silas or Amara would have had children as long as their family line is still there (meaning sibilings or cousins that have children or even distant familiy) because nature must ensure these doppelgängers occure. Because they also said that Katherines familiy line endet with her (before they knew she had a child). If it is just a gene that manifest maybe every few hundred years or every generation it must be carried in the bloodline by everyone in that bloodline (including cousins, aunts) Yeah it would have happed if Qetsiya would have taken the immortality thing. And when they said there were Shadowselfs created they ment the doppergänger we know, so that they would occur every now and than. There were not just coming when they took it. The Shadowselfs are just meaning the outside looking but not how these people are as a person (as we see in Elena and Katherine)

To me the whole universe and destiny thing just proves that Stefan and Elena were not true love. They were forced together by some spell. Damon and Elena have a lot to overcome and IF they do that then to me that is true love.

suveemi

Oh yeah it is true. If the universe draws them together it is not real and btw if Stefan wouldn't be a vampire, the same for Katherine they would never have met so when the universe draws them together why is it with people that are not even supposed to live at the same tome.

Connie Kay

That is the spell. They are drawn to each other. That sounds like a fairytale gone wrong to me.

This entire season gets the shippers so mad at another but no one ever gets mad at the show runners for pulling this shit. We are in the fifth season of this show and despite the writers making Elena choose in the finale of the last season they are still playing with the love triangle that should've been done with after Elena made her choice before she went over that bridge. But they can't be done with it, because they want fans to go back and forth over whether Stelena was ingenuine despite their relationship clearly being a choice of their own or if Delena will be able to overcome "destiny". They pulled the same bullshit when they wrote in Damon actually being the first one to meet Elena, it's like they don't know which brother they want her to be with so they take turns giving each couple interesting moments in order to keep fans on the edge of their seats while not actually have to stick with a choice. It just makes Elena look indecisive and the brothers look dumb for letting it happen.

Lulu

I see your point but to be fair this show was literally marketed as "a girl torn between two brothers". The love triangle was established as the centre of the show from day 1, so you kinda know what you're getting into when you start watching. The back and forth and constant pull of both brothers is to be expected.
