Tears over Carl! 😭 I have such a soft spot for him and I love when we get to see a vulnerable, caring Carl. So tragic what happened this episode and you gave such beautiful analysis at the end about what was going on both with him and Nick. This is also a real turning point for Lip and even though I love Lip I've never been able to feel much sympathy for him in the aftermath of this relationship, but you made some interesting points I hadn't thought of like how it kinda replicates trauma from his relationship with his mom - which seems very valid! Also good insight about the connection between how Amanda feels towards him and him towards Helene. Really enjoying hearing your perspectives on a show I love and have seen many times!

that scene with carl and nick was so heartbreaking I loved their friendship and he genuinely cared for nick, he made me sob this episode lmao and him giving his money to fiona and it makes me so sad that carl doesn't have anyone to talk to right now and I agree he does need help he isn't mentally stable, carl has been through a lot but the show doesn't really focus on his emotional side because he comes on as a lil psycho but he is sweet deep inside and he just lost his best friend and it is really sad and nick murdering that child made me BAWLLL he grew that way bc of his father and spending most of his life in jail is just and its really nice to see the change in carl from s3 he "killed" his cousin patrick with no remorse and here he felt sorry for the child and threw up :(( also off topic but I miss carl and frank's relationship it was cute

U became my favorite reactor ever, I love your reactions to Shameless, TVD an TO, u have a such a sweet heart, I don't agree sometimes with you but it is normal and I completely respect your opinions. This episode btw is one of my favorite of season 6, Carl broke me in this one, and I totally forgot about Chucky, poor kid

Sophia Connolly

does that shirt say Buffy? Buffy's my favorite show! (Shameless being second). I'm excited to watch this reaction, its definitely one of the best episodes this season. Thanks for putting out so many reactions so consistently!

Love this episode and your reaction! So many great moments, and I agree with you on everything except the Mickey thing. I think painting Mickey as an abusive boyfriend who was only with Ian for the sex really does him a disservice. I mean, the guy literally told Ian he loved him and was ready to be there and take care of him even if he had to be on meds for 40 more years or whatever. And let's be real, Ian was just as likely and as capable to throw a punch, there was no power imbalance in there. Other than that, this episode was great and we got some good insight into Carl's psyche. At the end of the day, he does really appreciate Fiona and everything she has done for the family and him giving her the money was so beautiful. Oh, and the moment between Frank and Debbie, that was great as well. I really like Frank's character, he is so multifaceted and interesting to watch. He's predictable but also kind of not.

Yeah I wasn’t bashing Mickey. The relationship was abusive on both sides but that was what “worked” for them. Mickey was the only guy Ian ever had a real relationship with and it started out as just sex and then evolved into something much more but Ian has never been that intimate and open with anyone else so he doesn’t know how to start all over with Caleb.

I was talking about the show bashing Mickey not you haha but I get how I accidentally made it sound, so sorry for that. You're right though, that was their dynamic and Ian has to realise it's not something that is gonna work with like any guy. It's gonna be interesting to see him be vulnerable and navigate new relationship dynamics. I really like hearing your thoughts about this show, you're one of my favourite reactors because you really take your time to understand everyone.
