From what I remember reading in an article interview, once Dillon Casey found out he was doing a gay scene with Barrowman, he made his mission to out-gay John Barrowman lol To answer your question from the last episode, because of the cracks in time in Series 5 of Doctor Who, the memories of alien invasions that happened in the Russell T Davies era of Doctor Who seem to have been forgotten because of the cracks even after the universe is rebooted hence why most people don't believe in aliens anymore (even Amy didn't remember the Daleks) which is kinda annoying but at the same time, a lot of people still denied alien existence even after countless invasions. Even the Classic Who invasions seem to be forgotten. But I have issues with those big alien events in the RTD era being forgotten because it kinda undermines the original impact of those events. I suspect that the 456 events were kept under wraps by the UK government hence why the CIA is unable to get information from it. This Miracle Day series takes place during Series 6 of Doctor Who but it's kinda difficult to fit it in with the Doctor Who canon because of how disconnected it feels. Mainly because Russell T Davies wasn't doing Doctor Who anymore but he was still doing the spin offs while Moffat was doing Doctor Who so there's a bit of loose or floating continuity here. I might try and explain this a bit more clearly once you're further caught up lol.
