As much as the ending is really rushed in this episode because of behind the scenes stuff, it still is one of my favourites in the season for the character moments, and how much it reminds me of S1-4

Brigadier Leftbridge-Stewart is a popular character from Classic Who, who headed UNIT. He was mentioned in The Wedding of River Song, when he called him and found out he was dead. There are a couple of Easter Eggs in this one. He mentioned a hovering dog, K-9. He was in School Reunion back in Season 2. The scene between the Doctor and Amy is my favourite too. The music is gorgeous! Hey, enjoy your vacation!

Matt Smith was on the cusp of a professional football/soccer career, having played on youth teams for Premier League football clubs like Leicester City, but he injured his back and had to give it up.

amazing reaction & commentary too!

Make a note of the name 'Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart'. Although the actor had passed away by this point, his legacy continued! He first appeared in a 1967 story;and continued on-and-ff throughout the Classic era. Kate Stewart had actually first appeared in a spin-off story ("Downtime") in 1995;but was a completely different sort of person, very much opposed to her fathers military background. Clearly,in the intervening 18 years, she underwent a complete change of attitude! :D The ending to this had to be hastily re-written when the actor playing the nasty alien took a very strong objection to all the prosthetics he had to wear, and stormed off. This is a fun and intriguing story;and would have worked better as a two-parter,I feel. When I first watched it I was fully expecting a cliffhanger!

It's a real shame the Brig didn't get to do a proper Doctor Who story in the modern era. Well, you know what I mean.

Evan!!

The ending is incredibly rushed, part of the reason is apparently the guy who played the Shakri was very very uncooperative and so they rewrote the scene so that he would be a hologram and did a bunch of reshoots. I still love the episode, it's just a really good outing for Amy and Rory, and shows how the Doctor has affected their lives.

testing 1 2 3. I've posted 3x now and they keep getting deleted.

(4th times a charm): Hey Brandon, hope the vacation is going well. Well this reaction was unexpected but appreciated. So again we have another adventure showing the evolving relationship the Doctor now has with Amy & Rory, not seeing them for months at a time. I do enjoy this episode in spite of the abrupt ending which to my understanding had to do with an uncooperative actor who played the Shakri. But I really enjoyed seeing the Doctor dealing with the Ponds in their regular life, and also to see Brian again. Rory’s dad can come back any time as I enjoy him as much as I enjoyed Wilfred Mott in series 4. And then there’s the discussion on the rooftop. It’s one of my very favorites as it provides such insight to the Doctor’s relationship with the Ponds: DOCTOR: I'm not running away. But this is one corner of one country in one continent on one planet that's a corner of a galaxy that's a corner of a universe that is forever growing and shrinking and creating and destroying and never remaining the same for a single millisecond. And there is so much, so much to see, Amy. Because it goes so fast. I'm not running away from things, I am running to them before they flare and fade forever. And it's all right. Our lives won't run the same. They can't. One day, soon maybe, you'll stop. I've known for a while. AMY: Then why do you keep coming back for us? DOCTOR: Because you were the first. The first face this face saw. And you're seared onto my hearts, Amelia Pond. You always will be. I'm running to you, and Rory, before you fade from me. A perspective of an immortal. As they continue, memories fade. And another reason why the Doctor is always running. Take care.

I’ll be out of town starting tomorrow, but I wanted to get in this episode before I go😄

After next weeks episode there's a ESSENTIAL Mini Episode called P.S that I highly recommend. It's probably the best Doctor Who Minisode ever

Love this episode til the last 5-10 mins then it's just like 'eh?' as mentioned because of behind the scenes crap going on. I'd love to see the real script shot because it starts so well.
