Even if Damon knows he has a chance to be with vampire Elena he’s still helping Stefan to find the cure for her so he’s being selfless. April remembered Conner because Elena was the one who compelled her and Elena was weak so she probably didn’t do it right. Very excited to next episode.

Oof, awesome episode! I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I’ve already watched it! First of all, what you said about Connor’s death and how it’s another black character dying, I completely agree. I know it’s probably not intentional but they really need to be careful about the messages they could be sending. Bonnie is going through a really cool arc - it’s strange bc we want her to regain control of her magic, but can we trust Shane? We don’t know much about him. I love what Tyler is doing too. I think him wanting to help other sireds is wonderful and I’m excited to see where that’s going. It’s also interesting bc vampire Elena has really shaken things up for the love triangle. Stefan wants Elena to be human but Damon doesn’t really want that. The question is: what does Elena want, and has she even decided yet? Honestly, I disagree with you about the Damon line. I don’t think it’s set in stone that Elena doesn’t want to be a vampire, bc from what we saw in this episode she seems to /want/ to fight back and do something. Just my perspective, but I don’t think she’s entirely sure herself whether vampirism is what she wants or not. Elena killed someone! Crazy. That scene at the end is very haunting and I loved ur reaction LOL. We’ll see what that means and where it goes. Great reaction!

She said she hates being a vampire and she wrote it in her diary which should mean it’s how she feels. I agree that she likes being able to fight and take care of herself but I don’t think that outweighs the guilt she feels knowing that she hurts people and has now killed someone. But we’ll see.

Compelling Jeremy without Elena's permission, in her mind, is at most 5 steps from a neck snap, maybe less. This episode is frustrating because Stefan is right, but because of Klaus, he couldn't get people to understand or believe him. Stefan ended up acting completely out of character, leading Damon to think Klaus had compelled Stefan. If Damon had been right, they couldn't trust that Stefan would save anyone because they wouldn't know why or what Klaus compelled Stefan to do in the first place. Everyone is working from the truth that they know, it is just that Stefan can't tell them, so he is acting odd. If he hadn't have known about the cure, he would have just gone with the plan to attack Connor. He might have done some recon to find out more, which would be in character, but everything else was starting to look very suspicious from the perspective of everyone around him. A very good reason not to kill anyone if you are a vampire (even if they deserve it) is that body disposal looks messy and time consuming. It would be enough to put you off. I'd just stick to bloodbags, or at the worst snatch, eat, erase. I certainly wouldn't be able to do the animal diet. I can't imagine hurting defenceless animals. Only problem with bloodbags is they aren't environmentally friendly. Connor is like he is because he is a hunter. He was already a trained killer as he was in Iraq, so his violence is probably borne from the war. We know it seriously affected soldiers and they suffered from PTSD. I would expect that to be the biggest problem he has on top of being a hunter. Alexander didn't appear violent, only towards vampires. A soldier who is traumatised from war might have a different outlook. At this point, the average life expectancy of a black character in this show is woefully short. I don't think it was intentional, but it is pretty annoying. Elena has only been a vampire for just over 2 weeks and has barely had the chance to enjoy the good parts of vampirism. Most vampires go through that first stage of hating it. What she is experiencing is normal and Damon knows that. He believes she is strong enough to get through this first phase and come out the other side stronger for it. Elena's alternative is to be Klaus's bloodbag for his hybrids, which is not something she wants either. Elena has gone through a lot in life, from Damon's perspective, he sees this as another hurdle for her, and he is confident she can get through it. Damon believes in Elena's strength more than Stefan does. Stefan never saw how Elena had to adapt at the start of S3, whereas Damon did, which is why Damon has more confidence in her than Stefan. Also, by the time they've found another hunter (not Jeremy) she might well have settled into it. It took Klaus 900 years to find another hunter, the odds are stacked against them. I like the Tyler/Hayley plan, it is a good plan. I think Damon was joking about sending Jeremy to the Bahamas. Professor Shane is creepy and being able to control a witch is not good. Admittedly Bonnie allowed him, and it is good she is getting to grips with her magic, but it gives a lot of power to him. Jeremy is now a hunter with the same urges as Connor. Great reaction. Looking forward to watching the next one with you. Take care. Stay safe. Stay healthy. x

Off topic: but your Afro is magical and I love it. I’ve been binge watching your TVD posts and to watch your hair pre to post-COVID world is a delight to this Black gal. I will refrain from asking about your hair regimen to have those curls pop and look forward to watching more reactions.

Mandzipop Yeah, Damon was joking about the Bahamas thing.

Thank you! Cantu leave-in conditioner for kids and prayer lol🙏🏽😂

I think you were wrong about Damon in his last sentence, honestly he said it, he doesn't care if Elena is a vampire or not, he likes her the same, it's more Stefan who would have a problem with the fact that she is a vampire, so as Damon does not care he does it only for his brother because he wants to find the cure. I think this time he proves his attachment to his brother more than Elena.

otherboy

To me, if Damon actually cared about his brother he wouldn’t have said anything about him being ok with Elena no matter how she is. She’s with Stefan so it doesn’t matter if Damon accepts Elena the way she is. He’s basically telling Stefan that he’s a better match for Elena because he’ll accept her no matter what. Maybe he’s a better match maybe he isn’t, that’s not the point and not for him to say since she has chosen Stefan. He’s saying “I’m better for her, but I’ll help you out anyway brother” instead of just saying I’ll help you out. It’s more passive aggressive manipulation.
