i loved this episode! i wish they would have done more with the castle in season 3. it's been great rewatching the original series along with you! a bit about post-s3: fans petitioned for years for a VM revival and in 2013 rob thomas launched a kickstarter and it broke records! it reached its goal of $2million in eleven hours, and totalled $5million at the end. the movie happened, then there are actually two novels that take place after the film - the thousand dollar tanline & mr kiss and tell (which aren't vital to understand season 4 but it just gives you a bit of backstory on what happened to veronica and some of the characters between the film and season 4)! looking forward to seeing your reaction to the movie :)

I am surprised that you didn't know that a strong magnetic field(like the one generated by a large magnet attached to a speaker) is capable of erasing data stored on a video tape or hard drive. That is what Kieth Mars was doing when he set the speaker on the device that showed Veronica sneaking on to the Kane estate.
