I thought I left this comment a while ago, but I guess it didn’t go through the first time. I wanted to say thank you so much for reacting to this! This show started in 2009, so it’s a bit old. Freeform is actually the new name for abc family, as it isn’t called that anymore because they wanted to rebrand the channel. Yes, the show is pretty white washed unfortunately. Kayley and her family are meant to be Hispanic, but they rarely ever touch on that or have any cultural references in the show. There are some POC that filter in and out, but none of them ever really stick around until the last season. So, “real” leotards don’t have tags, so Lauren made fun of her because it’s obvious she bought hers from like a Walmart or something rather than an expensive or custom brand. Emily ran when she saw Carter and Kayley kissing because they aren’t supposed to date, so she didn’t want it to be known that she saw them. Thanks again for watching it!
