I think Katherine wanted everything to go the way it did to distract away from her return to Mystic Falls. Otherwise, she might not have gone so easily unnoticed.

Also I can't wait for you to start reacting the season 2! Season 1 is really good but season 2 is even better in my opinion.

Great reaction. This is not one of the best season finale's either. Wasn't sure whether you'd pick up on it being Katherine, some do, some don't. I didn't, although I was confused with her kissing Damon. What does Katherine want? That is the eternal question, although you will get answers. The character of Damon who you see now, is the character people love. It is his character growth people like, it's not because he's hot. I try and forget early S1 Damon, because I don't think he's a nice character at first. Even being hot doesn't make up for it, but he's not evil, he just has issues. When a vampire flips the switch, they have less emotions than a great white shark, but are more deadly. You will get to see vampires flip the switch, and even the nicest vampires become completely different creatures. What makes them turn it back on is varies from vampire to vampire, and it isn't an easy task to make them want to feel again. Damon had his off for a very long time, I'm talking decades. You will get to meet a lot more vampires over the course of the show, ones you will get to know even better than Anna, Pearl & Isobel. I picked up on what Tyler was the first time I watched it. Not many people do, but they drop a massive hint in one of the earlier episodes, which is when I picked up on it. Now you know why people hate Uncle John, because not only is he annoying, but he kills Anna. He's a bigot as some vampires are good, he just doesn't see that, so he kills them regardless. Uncle John deserved bad things to happen to him just for hurting Liz. The reason they seem to be in mortal peril all of the time is because of the bigger picture, which you will find out over time. It is why S1-4 cover a period of less than 2 years. S1 is 6th September 2009 - 25th Feb 2010. S2 is 26th Feb 2010 - 1st May 2010. S3 is 22nd June 2010 - 6th November 2010 & S4 is 7th November 2010 - 15th June 2011. After that, a season is a year, give or take. There are some light moments though. Looking forward to the start of S2, if you don't come back before Xmas, have a good one.

Although I’m warming up to Damon slightly, I’m still gonna need to see more growth from him to like him. He may not be “evil” but he is definitely not good or someone I admire. I’m glad Bonnie will be keeping an eye on him.

Such a great Episode - a lot of Character growth. Still, Damon annoys me, lol - the Series tries so hard to get me to like Him, but it never works. lol
