Good morning! What a nice Friday surprise. A two-part reaction for a very underrated story. "Toby, I can see you ..."

This is literally the first time I've ever heard this was considered Tennant's best work. Ever. So congratulations on that because I rarely if ever have heard when discussing series two anyone mention this two-parter. So I stand by my original statement of it being under appreciated. Because it's so good!

I said "one of the best", not THE best. Read my comment again. I always see this story ranked among Tennant's top 10 stories. We can at least agree that this story is absolutely brilliant. That's the most important thing.

They are good aren't they.

I love all the themes of faith and religion and what they mean to us. I love how the story challenges the Doctor's perception of the universe. I love how humanities quest for power and knowledge almost gets them destroyed and allows the beast to escape, which tells us that some things are better left untouched and undiscovered. I love Rose and the Doctor's character development and the journey they both go on in this story. I love all of the side cast, who all feel like such distinct and fully formed characters; despite only being introduced a short while ago. Long way of saying, yes. This story is seriously good!

I loved this story SO MUCH in 2006... I'm a bit over it now, but was surprised to hear you call it an 'ok' episode..!!

Lol you said you’re over it now which is how I felt. If I saw it in 2006 I probably would have more of a connection to it, but I find that my opinion often differs from most viewers especially on this show. I enjoyed aspects of this 2 parter like the room share scene between the Doctor and Rose and the Doctor finding his faith, but there were too many characters for me that I thought we hardly got to know, especially if we’re never going to see them again. I’m drawn to the smaller personal stories😄
