Keyleth turned into a Jackalope (rabbit with antlers). The wraiths were doing life drain on the team, but it is hard to display someone losing life essence, so they artists depicted it by black goo. And yes, that was a replica of the table the group uses in real life.

Ashley Johnson (Pike) was filming "Blind Spot" in New York, while "Critical Role" filmed in LA. As well, in Pike's story, she had a crisis of faith. She had a vengeance streak in her that conflicted with her tenants of faith. Thus, she separated from the group to work on reconnecting with her Goddess. Pike did make some guest appearances through the campaign, as Ashley could find time to Skype in for games, but she was gone quite a bit. The show utilized this theme of reconnection to give Pike's part of the story, which we didn't get to see in the original stream.
