Hello everyone!

(Short) Dev report time.

Yeah, with this situation I’m being “forced” to just make short reports.


So, remember the screenshot posted in the past report?

That’s part of a “system” I already finished implementing, at least it’s barebones. It was a lot of programming, so decided to take a break from coding and went to work on the new unlockable for Julia.

But wasn’t just that, while working in said “system”, I managed to track down and fix a few unnoticed bugs. One was related with getting items when they’re close to other interact actors in the level (like a door, for example) causing the UI where it shows the item to get, to stay there showing even when Julia wasn’t close to said item. Another one was related to being unable to cause damage with knife when the handgun wasn’t previously equipped. One affecting the stats, specifically the accuracy, where knife stabs were counted as shots thus affecting (mainly lowering) the accuracy stat. And some others… lol

Apart from that, also tweaked a bit some exaggerated blood particle effects, to avoid that stylized effect.

Now, progress on the new hair for Julia: It’s almost done, needs a bit of tweaking, mainly in UVs and then send it to UE4.

(Don’t pay attention to the colors, they’re just for the ID info)

And now for the new outfit for Julia: well we’ve made a lot of progress on it, it’s modeling part is done, it’s UVs are done (here, a HUGE thanks to MrVersus since he did all the fight with those bitches xD) and it’s in the process of making textures+materials, after that it’ll be time for skinning and bring it to UE4.


And this is it for this report. I wish more and better progress for the next report. Let’s hope I can make that happen.

Can't wait for the next Build! One of the big turnons about "Julia" for me was always her original costume, are you planning to include both costumes that are in the remake, or will it be exclusively this one?

I've always like the little red dress as a costume idea.

Id do wish there was a few more character models, or at least some customizations so you can make your own personal touch on character, or mix n' match outfit pieces. Though I am curious as to why the straps from secret outfit and bodysuit are left after damage. They tend to interact weird with the body model, especially when inflated after "infection"

We need more beasts/creatures for this game, not just zombies. Also, Regeneradors?

Since I didn't (have the time to) play the remake yet, I'm not really sure what's the other costume ^^U. But saw some images of that Jill with the beret outfit from the resident evil 1, is that one you're referring to? If that's the case, there's already an outfit inspired by that one since the version 0.1.XXX that can be unlocked (being a Fox or above Patron for now)

That's the idea, to have more characters in the game, not just Julia and not just female ones. The straps are left because of how they should react when they break, it's not just like normal clothes, they should "jump out", but more importantly, it's because them UVs are horrible! and it's too hard to create damage masks for them XD (blame Meguido for this, since he just made "automatic-uv" generations to make them faster xD). But yeah, they still need some improvements to avoid clippings and weird things with animations
