Welcome to the Greatwood, a sprawling forest filled with massive elder trees that reach hundreds of feet toward the open sky. The canopy of the forest is an entire Kingdom, home to many monstrous creatures and animals that hunt its borders.

This Map Pack contains [2] separate maps that can be combined into one complete map, the Greatwood and the Greatwood Den. Each map is 50 x 70 and provides ample space for encounters of many kinds upon the forest floor. Trees, bushes, boulders and other clutter provide a variety of cover, while the Den can be linked to any other map you please, as your party travels to a monster's lair, a system of tunnels or perhaps a known entrance to the Underdark.

Potential Plot Hooks:

1. Den of the Beast - a creature of massive proportion is rumored to have laired within the Greatwood, lurking deep within its hole. Locals have offered a handsome reward to see its head mounted on a spit, or to have its valuable hide returned to the village craftsmen.

2. Gateway to the Underdark - Not all entrances to the Underdark lay in mountains. This deep hole may worm its way through the stony earth into the bowels of the Underdark, but it is guarded by a fearsome creature that the party must first defeat, or bypass, in order to reach their ultimate destination.

3. Random Encounters - Nothing like a forest that makes Hill Giants feel tiny to set the party at ease, especially when traveling from location to location. This could provide a fun site for a memorable fight, while traversing the wilds of your world.
