Welcome to the Fjord Coast!

This random encounter map features a Fjord coastline along a murky and misty take that extends into the distance. Dead wood, broken stone and coniferous trees hug a mountainous hill as curves ahead to the north.

Large rocks jut from the shoreline, frequently shrouded in sea spray and populated by flocks of sea birds feasting on the plentiful fish below. Further down the beach, the mouth of a massive cave opens to reveal a spacious interior. A weathered table is surrounded by old crates, while stacks of barrels, crates, chests and other supplies lay heaped against the cave wall.

The western side of the cave falls away to reveal a deep pit, containing the remnants of a prisoner, or perhaps an unlucky smuggler that came to odds with their captain.

How can I use this map?

1. Random Encounter - the party can be told of a sea creature or monster laired in a cave somewhere in the Fjord and make their way to track it down. The map pack has a variant cave that doesn't contain any of the smuggling gear to house a creature of your choice.

2. Smuggler's Lair - this cave could serve as a smuggler's lair, which the party has to locate, infiltrate and dismantle to either stave the threat or return some precious goods.

3. Rescue Mission - in addition to stealing goods, some crew of brigands has now taken to kidnapping and have taken some prisoners to the cave, keeping them in the pit. The party has been hired to track, find and free said prisoners from their clutches.

4. Resting Spot  - if you are playing in a more nautical environment, this might be a good location for the party's ship to dock and find some shelter within the cave due to high winds, fog or other threats. Might also be a good time for a sea creature to take interest. I've included a Giant Octopus Asset, should you desire to use it. ;)

As always, I hope you enjoy the map and can use it for some fun adventures!
