Broken Stone Oasis | Random Encounter [100 x 52]

This Random Encounter map is designed to provide a complex environment containing a variety  of elevation changes, sources of cover, line of sight issues, difficult  terrain and some points of interest that can be used to tie into  whatever narrative you may need.

I've also included a few tokens that can be used/placed atop the map, if you  wanted to create a little camp by the Oasis, as well as a fun Elephant travel mount, for something a little different!

A small winding road twists through the shattered red rock of this dry land, eventually finding its way toward the unexpected blue waters of a shady oasis nestled in among the cliffs. The road continues eastward, while the mouth of a dark cave yawns to the north of the oasis.

This map could be used for a variety of scenarios:

  1. Resting Location - if your party is traveling toward a distant location through the  desert, perhaps they managed to reach this oasis by nightfall and decide  to make camp. While encamped, some may decide to explore the cave, or  perhaps they just count their lucky stars for the shade and water it  provides.
  2. Creature Lair - if you need a good desert-dwelling creature lair, this cave might  provide a good location to attach another map, as well as an interesting  approach.
  3. Cave Dwellers - you may want to attach another map to the cave, leading toward a  group of bandits, cultists, outlaws or other group that has made the  cave their temporary home, perhaps fortifying some of the surrounding  rocks with defenses and scouts watching the path.

I hope you can use it for lots of fun desert adventures!

PS -- I also created a version of this map that links to the Temple of the Draconian Seer, which I will be adding to that Map Pack, but have included a version of it attached here to see how it fits.
