Hey guys!

I'm really excited about this map release. I've had several people mention wanting a different/separate location that serves as either the final showdown between the Black Spider (the main protagonist in Lost Mine of Phandelver) or something previous to the encounter at Wave Echo Cave that can provide more depth and backstory.

This map contains a couple of maps -- the Lair of the Black Spider, which consists of an underground cavern and headquarters, and the Ruined Village -- which is, essentially, Conyberry, as the access point is the old dry well in the center of town. This set of maps could easily work for any homebrew adventure as the lair of a cult, hidden library or other such remote location of interest.

For LMoP, this lair is accessed (by most people) via a dry well in  Conyberry, which also gives people a great reason to go explore that  location. Descending into the well will drop you into the NW corner of  the map, from where you can navigate the stone steps down around the  underground river toward a bridge crossing a treacherous chasm.

There  is also a side tunnel that leads into a series of spider-ridden  chambers used by the Black Spider both as a breeding ground for  servants, as well as a potential escape route by using special web he's  enchanted so that he can web walk between them. This is also how he might be able to get around the various locations in LMoP.

The headquarters itself holds the following chambers:

  1. Entry Room -- This entry room is well decorated, but fairly sparse in physical  furnishings. A pair of stone dragon heads hover about lit pedestals,  ready to ignite the room should unwanted guests force their way in.
  2. Planning Room -- Several chairs linger about a map of the sword coast (or another  world), where the Black Spider and his underlings can plan their  movements and set plans in motion. A small kitchen is also located to  the SE, where those stationed here can quickly get something to eat.
  3. Lieutenant's Room - The Black Spider's right hand...spider guy that operates the  headquarters while he's away has a private chamber off the planning  room, where they can hold private meetings and catch up on  correspondence from pen pals.
  4. Spider's Den - The Black Spider primarily operates out of their central chamber, the  den, which boasts a comfortable hearth, large library and several  tables for conducting research. A large desk also sits against the south  wall, where the Black Spider can coordinate all of his plans.
  5. Black Spider's Chambers - South of the Den are the personal quarters of the Black Spider, as  well as a room containing one of the webs he can use for transportation  in/out of the base, as well as to escape potential capture (out to the  spider caverns). The doorways of his chamber are also thick webs that  act as an Arcane Lock.
  6. Guard Barracks - Room for 14-28 guards lay here (depending on if they hot bunk or not,  and if you need them for the encounter), along with a large table and  several furnishings.
  7. Small Prison - A few cells provide room to hold up to 14 creatures/people for experiments, interrogation or late night conversations.

I've also included some battle tokens with this, including a spider swarm, phase spider, drow wizard, drow fighter, and giant bat.

I hope you enjoy the mad and it provides a lot of possibilities for your LMoP campaign or your homebrew adventure.

Tier Rewards will be sent out shortly!

I will also have a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT coming later this week, that I'm very excited about and hope you are, as well!!

This is great. Was there ever a map of Wave Echo Cave too to round out the set?

There were [2] maps for Wave Echo Cave, the traditional one and a "Restored" version.

Hm, are there vtt files?

morvoldpress

There are JPG's sized for Roll20 Free and Premium, a .dd2vtt file for conversion into Foundry with walls/lights (though I would remove the lights with the Light Removal Tool I had created and can be found on the Patreon), WEBP files and Hi-Res JPG files for people to use, if they prefer, for whatever other environment they want to use.
