Dwarven Barrel Wagon & War Wagon!

This is the newest of my land vehicle series, creating both battlemap layouts, as well as tokens/assets, of various wagons and other vehicles for use in your adventures -- the Dwarven Barrel Wagon and Dwarven War Wagon!

The Dwarven Barrel Wagon [18 x 26] could be used for a variety of purposes within your game world, including:

  1. Mobile PC Headquarters -- especially if your party is an entire clan of dwarves riding about the countryside doing dwarfly things.
  2. Dwarven NPC Encounter -- random encounters don't always need to be "d4 Trolls" -- sometimes it might be a small clan of dwarves making their way across the world, drinking and dining each night and welcoming the company of good spirited travelers and adventurers.
  3. War Support Vehicle -- dwarven armies may loathe to leave the safety and security of their subterranean homes, but when they do, well, you can bet they like to bring      the home life WITH them. Following the army may be a host of Dwarven Barrel Wagons, offering rest and relaxation to the many soldiers following a hard day's march or fight.

The Dwarven Barrel Wagon contains the following rooms:

  1. Common Area - the lower level of the "barrel" is a broad common area with a      spacious table, warm hearth, plentiful mead and welcoming bar, with a set of spiral wooden steps leading up to the second floor.
  2. Dwarven Sleeping Chambers -- up the stairs, a stout wooden door to the south      leads into the sleeping chambers, where up to [18] dwarves could potentially sleep (swapping every 8 hours), giving you quite the populated wagon.
  3. Large Kitchen -- every barrel wagon needs a hardy kitchen and stocked larder to supply their clan, guests and advancing force with feasts and frothy mead. A large cook-stove, preparing tables and storage offer everything a few cooks need.
  4. Stocked Larder -- barrels of ale, crates of dry goods, baskets of potatoes and apples,      sacks of grain -- the dwarves are ready to feed an army, and...they DO!

The Dwarven War Wagon [12 x 20] could be used for a variety of purposes within your game world, including:

  • Quest Objective -- players may need to board and operate the Dwarven War Wagon as part of the adventure, escaping from a location, or attacking a large group of enemies and utilizing the latest in dwarven technology to take them down.
  • Dwarven NPC Encounter -- stumbling across a group of dwarves taking down a troll with their war wagon could be a great way to introduce new NPC's, link up plots or just have a fun session.

The Dwarven Barrel Wagon contains the following rooms:

  • Lower Level -- The main level of the war wagon contains [3] windows, two of which are fitted with large crossbows on swivels, while the other remains open. The rear of the wagon contains a large barrel containing flammable liquid, mostly used to power the aft burner (to go REALLY fast, burn a rear-facing enemy, or YES!). A small set of stairs on the west side leads into a small piloting chamber, which contains a ladder leading up to the rooftop level.
  • Rooftop Level - The rooftop provides a walled platform upon which to carry armed dwarves, mount siege equipment, cast ranged spells or simply enjoy the majesty of a winter's morn as you trundle across the mountainous countryside.

The wagons are accompanied by [3] Dwarven NPC's with stat sheets & tokens:

  • Dugan Blackstone -- The leader of a group of dwarven explorers, tasked by their city to seek out and explore rumors of dwarven ruins, relics and lost artifacts in the rest of the world and return them to the city.
  • Kjarn Dhepvenn - Dugan's right-hand man, and a mountain of muscle carrying a dwarven mining axe and longsword. Kjarn owes Dugan with his life, but would rather be home enjoying the company of his family in the Mead Hall.
  • Lohmak Gehldshin - A cunning merchant assigned to help handle the purchase and sale of mundane goods along the way, perhaps more concerned with lining his pockets than actually recovering any relics of note.

Tier Rewards will be sent along soon!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it!

This is great. All the months I've been a patron, I've never grabbed any of the rewards. Gotta change that this weekend and go through them.
