Welcome to the mythical Isle Port of Monopsis, an ancient shipyard owned and operated by a Cyclops and a small working crew that has chosen to stay on with him after being rescued at sea.

This was actually a map idea brought up at Gen Con with one of your fellow Patrons, MythicFan. I always love to hear ideas for maps, and so I wanted to bring this one to life with not only the map, but illustrated scenes and an NPC portrait of the cyclops.

To download the Map Pack, please click on your Tier link below and the download URL will be listed there in map release order. These tiles have been added to the previous Seatower of Balduran links, so just downloading the previous links will show all of the files for this location now.

What is this place?

Located along the southeastern shores of a massive and mysterious island lay the stone ruins of an old dock, which has been claimed by a massive Cyclops named Monopsis. The Cyclops was part of a warlike and crude tribe located deep in the heart of the island, but his curiosity was peaked when he noticed the remnants of a ship washed up on the shore.

Study of the ship and its design soon became his only focus, much to the frustration of his tribe mates, and he was eventually forced to flee, when he would not abandon his infatuation with the study of these foreign ships. He wandered the island until he found the remnants of what appeared to be an ancient stone dock and decided to claim the land for himself and build his first boat.

The location is now known as the Isle Port of Monopsis, and he has taken to patrol the island shoreline and neighboring seas for signs of shipwrecks or those in need. Some, who have heard of the legend of Monopsis occasionally make the journey to his port, to trade goods, information and sometimes seek the natural treasures of the island.

How can you use it?

This would be a great location for your party to awake should they ever find themselves lost at sea, thrown overboard, defeated by a monster or even captured by pirates (who deposit them here en route to some other location).

It would give you a new starting point, and a fun character to introduce the party to, who just so happens to have a boat they could use to get back home, if only they will do him a simple service of bringing him something from deeper in the island where he no longer wishes to travel. ;)

What does the port contain?

The port is comprised of the ruins of an ancient port, with several docks that Monopsis will use when pulling in ships approaching from sea.

1. Storage & Stables

A large building stands next to the ruined stone dock, which contains both stables for beasts and ample storage for trade goods, food and supplies delivered by other ships. A small fenced yard is attached to the building, where goats and sheep are kept for milk, wool, cheese and food.

2. Crew Buildings

Several small thatch-roofed huts are located in this section of the island, owned and used by the various men and women that have decided to call this port home and help Monopsis in his research and building.

3. Prisoner Cage

A large cage crafted from hunks of metal and wood lay on the beach, used as temporary housing for prisoners until Monopsis sees fit to set them free, or otherwise decide their fate.

4. Monopsis's Cave

A large cave mouth is visible in the western hills, and Monopsis lives in a large cave, which contains his sleeping area, small kitchen and dining area and large space for his building efforts.

Extra Goodies!

I am happy to provide the illustrated scene (above) by Clark Ocleasa, as well as an NPC illustration of Monopsis and accompanying token with this Map Pack, all of which turned out awesome!

I had a lot of fun creating this map, and I hope you guys can use it to tell a lot of fun adventures!
