Xak Tsaroth - Illustrated Scene (Patreon)

Each month, I try and pass along the generosity you show me by employing other artists to create a variety of illustrations, portraits, magical items and other works of art that can be used in your games at home, whether they be homebrew or official modules.

This month, I wanted to highlight one of those pieces -- Khisanth at Xak Tsaroth, by Art of Neight.

This was our interpretation of Khisanth, a black dragon featured in the Dragonlance Chronicles, whom famously breathed acid on Riverwind (melting him alive), later to be brought back by the healing properties of the blue crystal staff artifact.

Much larger than depicted in the official artwork by Larry Elmore and Clyde Caldwell, I figured this could be an alternate reality where perhaps Khisanth wasn't slain and grew to a fuller size, continuing to lair in the swampy ruins of Xak Tsaroth.
