Iymrith's Lair Exterior | SKT - Blue Dragon Lair Map Pack (Patreon)

This is my interpretation of Iymrith's Lair from the module, Storm King's Thunder, depicting a ruined desert location now claimed by a Blue Dragon for its lair. An evening variant map will be available for Tier 3+, as well.

James' RPG Art makes animated scenes to help players visualise environments and add immersion and tone to your games. He has created over 300 scenes from official WotC adventures and many unique locations that are often found in a D&D adventure. He releases 4 new locations each month for his patrons.

If you aren't running the module, the location would make a great desert-themed location for either a social/quest or combat encounter.

The map includes a large ruined amphitheater with crumbling statues, pillars and a collapsed section of the stands on the eastern side. Small mountains of sand have piled up against the amphitheater and its surrounding structure, and a gaping hole near the center leads down into foreboding darkness.

A few ruined buildings lay scattered about the landscape, as well as a small collection of mystic tents that can be used for a variety of purposes:

Mystics - your party may need to seek the wisdom of these entities, perhaps being required to perform some task before being granted what they seek.

Explorers - all ruins have some promise of treasure, and these tents may be those of an adventuring group that has arrived previously to explore what lay below.

Cultists - in service to the dragon, cultists operate out of these tents to keep the area clear of trespassers and serve the will of the dragon.

The Iymrith's Lair - Lower Level will be released tomorrow, which will expand on what lay beneath the massive hole in the center and provide additional options for running this for your module or homebrew adventure.
