Rising before you is a six-hundred-foot-tall mountain of glacial ice,  its peak carved to resemble a gigantic skull wearing a crown. Weaving up  the mountain's southern slope are enormous stairs hewn from the ice.  These steps, which extend from the base of the mountain to the base of  the fortress, were clearly made for giants.

This Map-pack is a request made by Mog Watt. Thank you Mog! This is a muti map pack that you can use by itself or with the WOC 5e adventure: Icewind Dale - Rime of the Frostmaiden. (Chapter 5 page 203).

I included maps for the exterior and interior of this giant tower. Night and day, grid and gridless. For the interiors, I added 2 versions of the rooms "Bright" and "Dark" versions. The adventure says that "The fortress is not illuminated. Frost giants lit their way with torches", but I included a bright version just in case you want to use it that way or if you want to apply your own "darkness" with your player or VTT software.

You will also find inside the folder a few TOTM Animated and static Scenery art, and another folder with Sound FX for 1.The Giant, 2.The Giant Roc, and 3.The Portals of the dungeon. Let me know if you want to see more Sound FX included in future uploads. :)

Do you own the Dynamic Dungeons Editor/Player? well just put the map folder inside your (Player / Stories) DD folder, and double click the "package.dd" file and PRESTO! You are good to go! All the maps will be magically sorted and ready to take you to your next adventure.

Note: I had to rotate the "Entrance" map so it could fit the aspect ratio of the TV display, just move your minis or tokens to the stairs of the new room, ok? cool.

★★ New ★★

I uploaded a new folder called "VTT". There you will find maps for your Virtual Table Top system like: Roll 20, Foundry and Fantasy Grounds. They are rendered at the right size (so you can just drop them using the provided dimensions info). They are also gridless, just in case you want to adjust the size of your grid at your convenience with your VTT.

Thank you Eivind Husby for the suggestion!

Kiely Thompson

Loving these maps. Is there a chance we can get the maps put together for static? For instance Palace Level A and B together as one map and Entry level A and B together as one map. Bright is preferred since you can alter the lighting in most VTTs. Would also like the Dungeon levels put as one map if possible. Thanks in advance!

Epic Quest

Hi Kiely! Entry level A and B are now together as one map. you can find it in the VTT folder. There is no Palace B map, therefore it cannot be joined with Palace A :) Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers!

Eric Layton

Awesome, keep up the great work! You're one of the best animated map makers out there!

Arman

Great content. If I can make a suggestion can you add a All in One zip file. It's tedious to download everything individually and Google Drive is horrendous at zipping files in the cloud. Much faster to include a single zip file that contains all the contents for this large maps/posts. Thank you very much.

Eivind Husby

I love the maps, but would it be possible to get the split ones that are animated as singular maps? Or at least fewer pieces? As they are now, they don't properly line up, and there is very much overlay. I get, and appreciate, the intent of jumping from map to map instead of scrolling, but for a lot of these, I would prefer the scrolling. Especially for something like the Entry lever, where I could pretty much fit the entire map on my monitor anyway. The bigger maps would need to be pretty high resolution, but I'd still love the option. To be clear though. The maps are great, and SO much better than the official ones from the book. I'll be using yours no matter what, when the time comes :D

Epic Quest

Hi, thanks for your message Arman. I'm glad you like the content. At first I did uploads that way (One Zip File), but many patrons asked me to upload the files individually, because they didn't want to have to download the entire zip file if they just needed to get some of them for a session. Then I realized that it was also easier for me to add and make changes to files if they were in the cloud this way, because once they are zipped I can't make changes to them or add more content. I will send you a possible solution via DM or email, because I can't send pictures here, ok? Please let me know if ti works. Thanks!

Epic Quest

Hi Eivind! I'm glad you like the maps. I totally understand what you say. Please understand that the animated maps are made to fit on a tv screen using Dynamic Dungeons software, so that the grid versions are approximately 1 inch in size. For example, the Entry level map is not a 16: 9 aspect ratio, which forces me to divide it into two parts so that it maintains the necessary size to keep it to scale. I want to find a solution to this. Please let me know: 1. What program are you using to play the maps? 2. What do you use to show them / TV? online VTT? Thank you for your message and I will be waiting for your reply.

Eivind Husby

I currently use Foundry VTT, both for online and in-person. I'm lucky enough to have a screen that almost matches your setup, but aspect ratio alone doesn't really make sense when the maps have to match a physical size. For a 32" screen, for instance, your maps would be way bigger than the monitor, and need scrolling either way. And my 46" have a couple of inches of black space around the maps. But I would much rather scroll the maps a bit, than have to set up multiple maps for different sides of the same map. Jumping maps for places like the Entry level really drags the experience down. Would it be possible to at least have combined maps for the non-animated ones? That would increase the value immensely for me, even if I have to sacrifice the animation.

Epic Quest

Have you tried with the file included in the root folder? It is the map of the entire entrance level. It's static, but maybe it works for you while I'm looking for a way to see how I work with an animated one.

Eivind Husby

I had managed to miss that one :p Sorry, and thank you. That helps a lot. And the dungeon map seems to be pretty aligned, so I can stitch that in Photoshop. Hopefully, that would be pretty simple for the rest of them too. I would still love animated versions in fewer pieces though, as the animations is one if the big reasons I'm a patreon, so I would greatly appreciate it if you find a good solution for that :) And I wouldn't mind something that was too big. Scaling down is much simpler than scaling up, after all. Re-encoding, cropping and such is no problem. If only I could figure out layered weather effects in Foundry; it would solve so many things ... :p

Epic Quest

Great! I’m glad to help. I’ll keep working on that. I think I have a solution. I’ll let you know via DM soon, ok? Take care Eivind.

Eivind Husby

Sounds awesome. Thanks for the extra work. I truly appreciate it :D

Epic Quest

Hey Eivind! I uploaded a new folder called "VTT" with an animated and static version of the "Entrance Level". I tested with Roll 20 and worked fine. Let me know If it works for you with Foundry.

Epic Quest

I'm glad to help. Thank you for the suggestion Eivind, I think I will continue to include the VTT files for large maps from now on. Thanks again and talk to you soon.

Christopher Allbritton

hi! Lovely maps! Wondering if it's possible to get bright VTT versions of entrance, Dungeon, Palace and the battlements?

Epic Quest

I’ll take a look at that Christopher, I’ll DM you soon for details. Thanks!

Christopher Allbritton

thanks so much! These are perfectly timed as my group is en route to Grimskalle, but I'm finding getting the bright dungeon, entrance, palace and roost maps to align is difficult!

2trixs

Thank you so much for the lovely maps. Will it be okay to request also of bright VTT versions of the Entrance, Palace, Battlements and Dungeon Level with grids?

Epic Quest

Hi 2trixs! …I thought that I had already done that. Let me check and I’ll get back to you.

2trixs

It was only the Entrance and Dungeon levels that I found.

Epic Quest

Ok, I’ll check that. Thanks!
