1800-1900 doodles (Patreon)

FR- Des fois, j'ai des bulles qui me passent au cerveau. Des idées, des questionnements. L'une qui me reviens souvent depuis quelques mois était: Comment aurait été la rencontre de Zakary et Lola, en 1800/1900, à l'époque ou le premier né devenait l'héritier de la fortune familiale et dont le mariage était surveillé de près pour assurer un avenir à la famille. Comment deux êtres de classe si différentes pourraient se rencontrer et finir ensemble. Voilà des doodles :P Il risque d'y en avoir d'autres lol

Page 01: Premier test en l'an 1800. J'ai toujours eu un faible pour cette époque. Comment les hommes sont habillés, les femmes... Bien sur, Lola ne peut pas avoir les cheveux courts à cette époque et donc sa crinière rousse doit être dompté en chignon/coiffure simpliste. Aussi, elle ne peut pas porter des pantalons, mais je l'imagine bien adapter ses robes pour se mouvoir facilement. Par contre, en 1800 il est presque impossible pour une femme de sortir de son état de pauvreté et de monter les échelons de la société. Je verrais moins bien Lola dans ces années dû à cela.

J'ai donc opté pour l'an 1900. À cette époque, on voit tranquillement l'émergence des femmes dans certaines classes et les échelons de la société commencent à se mélanger. (je me suis un peu fié à la série Downton abbey) Lola est alors dans une classe sociale moindre que Zak bien sur, mais elle travaille fort pour se tailler une place en société. Elle participe aussi à des combats de boxe entres femmes (qui lui rapporte un gain substantiel) et offre des cours privés aux femmes pour apprendre à se défendre.

Page deux: La mère de Zakary lui déconseille fortement de trainer dans les bas quartiers. Un jeune homme de sa stature n'a pas à se mélanger à ce monde. Mais c'est justement ce que Zakary souhaite; voir le 'vrai' monde. Il s’habille donc à passer inaperçu et aime aller déambuler dans les quartiers moins riches. C'est là qu'il aperçoit Lola pour la première fois. Quelque chose l'attire vers elle et il fera tout pour la revoir.

Dans cet univers, Tylender est aussi l'héritier de sa maison, ayant perdu ses parents très jeunes. Même s'il est le cadet de la famille, c'est lui qui doit alors subvenir aux besoins de sa sœur ainée Amary. Tylender est bien moins riche que son ami Zakary, mais il possède néanmoins un domaine. Bien des filles aimeraient être marié à lui, mais il ne veut rien savoir du mariage et de tout ce que cela comporte...

EN- Sometimes, I have bubbles going through my brain. Ideas, questions. One that has been coming back to me a lot in the last few months was: How would Zakary and Lola have met, in 1800/1900, when the first born became the heir to the family fortune and the marriage was closely watched to ensure a future for the family. How could two beings of such different class meet and end up together. Here are some doodles :P There might be more lol

Page 01: First test in the year 1800. I've always had a soft spot for this era. How the men are dressed, the women... Of course, Lola can't have short hair in this era and so her red mane has to be tamed into a bun/simplistic hairstyle. Also, she can't wear pants, but I can imagine her adapting her dresses to move easily. On the other hand, in 1800 it is almost impossible for a woman to get out of her state of poverty and climb the ladder of society. I would see Lola less well in those years due to that.

So I opted for the year 1900. At that time, we are slowly seeing the emergence of women in certain classes and the echelons of society are beginning to mix. (I relied a bit on the Downton Abbey series) Lola is then in a lower social class than Zak of course, but she works hard to carve out a place for herself in society. She also participates in women's boxing matches (for which she makes a substantial profit) and offers private lessons to women to learn how to defend themselves.

Page Two: Zakary's mother strongly discourages her from hanging out in the neighborhood. A young man of his stature has no business mixing with that world. But that's exactly what Zakary wants; to see the 'real' world. So he dresses to be inconspicuous and likes to wander around the less wealthy neighborhoods. It is there that he sees Lola for the first time. Something draws him to her and he will do anything to see her again.

In this world, Tylender is also the heir of his house, having lost his parents at a very young age. Even though he is the youngest in the family, he is the one who has to provide for his older sister Amary. Tylender is much less wealthy than his friend Zakary, but he still owns an estate. Many girls would like to be married to him, but he doesn't want to know about marriage and all that it entails...
