FR- Il y a de cela quelques mois, je vous ai parlé de mon projet de réaliser l'histoire de la rencontre de Zakary et de Lola, durant leur adolescence. Je me suis fais discrète avec ce projet, pour la simple raison que j'ai totalement bloqué pendant des mois. Encore une fois, je voyais le tout comme une montagne. J'arrivais même pas à faire l'ordre chronologique des événements. Et puis il y a quelques semaines de cela, j'ai recommencé à y penser, à imaginer. La semaine passée, ça a enfin débloqué. J'ai pris une autre approche (celle de faire un résumé de chaque chapitre) pour mieux décortiquer le tout. Je suis encore à le faire, très doucement. Mais je peux au moins dire que les choses bougent enfin. 

Cela faisant, je me butte à d'autres problèmes. Par exemple, bien que je sais comment va évoluer mes personnages principaux, je dois quand même peupler cette histoire. Si Zakary n'aime pas les étudiants avec qui il fait ses cours, ou encore ceux avec qui il ose passer du temps, je n'avais jamais vraiment pris le temps de les imaginer, ni ceux que Lola côtoie. Je dois donc créer des personnages pour meubler le tout. Mais j'aime ça créer, alors je laisse venir les idées et l'inspiration. J'ai aussi une 'banque' de personnages que j'avais déjà crée par le passé, mais dont je n'avais jamais fait d'histoire avec eux. Je vais surement en prendre quelques uns pour ce projet. (page 5)

Je cherche aussi à voir pour un autre format de page, de typographie, de mise en page. Je m'inspire de d'autres BDS pour voir un peu comment dynamiser le tout, comment bien créer cette nouvelle histoire. Je dois aussi trouver le titre. C’est super important le titre, c'est un peu ce qui va relier le tout, mais je suis dans le néant total pour ce projet... J'ai des idées, mais rien qui me semble 'parfait'. Cela dit, c’est encore en recherche, mais je compte vous présenter des doodles/recherches comme celles-ci de temps en temps. 

Page 01: Dave, le grand frère de Lola. Il tient beaucoup à sa petite sœur et ne veut pas qu'elle s'engage sur le même chemin que lui (gang de rue, drogue, mafia...)

Page 02: Saya-Mel, amie de Lola. Ça fait tout drôle de la dessiner jeune. Je l'ai toujours dessiner adulte, souvent avec une cigarette. En mode Ado ça fait changement.

Page 03: Une scène 'fixe' que je vois dans l'histoire. Lola qui étudie dans un parc basketball de ville, avec Saya-Mel qui flâne.

Page 04: Même scène, mais un peu plus tard. Première rencontre entre Zakary et Lola.

Page 05: Différents personnages que j'ai repris de ma 'banque' pour possiblement les inclure à l'histoire en tant que personnages 'figurants'. Raven, Vaël et Serena seraient des copains de Lola. Steven lui, serait un 'copain/connaissance' de Zak. Je vous en reparlerai, de Steven.


EN- A few months ago, I told you about my project to make the story of Zakary and Lola's meeting, during their adolescence. I was discreet with this project, for the simple reason that I totally blocked for months. Again, I saw the whole thing as a mountain. I couldn't even get the chronological order of events right. And then a few weeks ago, I started to think about it again, to imagine. Last week, it finally came together. I took another approach (that of making a summary of each chapter) to better unpack the whole thing. I'm still doing it, very slowly. But I can at least say that things are finally moving. 

In doing so, I'm running into other problems. For example, even though I know how my main characters will develop, I still have to populate this story. If Zakary doesn't like the students he teaches, or the ones he dares to spend time with, I never really took the time to imagine them, or the ones Lola is with. So I have to create characters to fill in the blanks. But I like to create, so I let the ideas and inspiration come. I also have a 'bank' of characters that I've created in the past, but never made a story with them. I'll probably pick up a few of them for this project. (page 5)

I'm also looking into another page format, typography, layout. I'm taking inspiration from other BDS to see a little bit how to energize it, how to create this new story well. I also have to find the title. It's very important, the title is the thing that will link the whole thing, but I'm in a total void for this project... I have some ideas, but nothing that seems 'perfect'. That said, it's still in the research stage, but I plan to bring you doodles/research like this from time to time. 

Page 01: Dave, Lola's older brother. He cares a lot about his little sister and doesn't want her to go down the same path as him (gangs, drugs, mafia...)

Page 02: Saya-Mel, Lola's friend. It's funny to draw her young. I always drew her as an adult, often with a cigarette. In teenage mode it's a change.

Page 03: A 'fixed' scene that I see in the story. Lola studying in a city basketball park, with Saya-Mel strolling by.

Page 04: Same scene, but a little later. First meeting between Zakary and Lola.

Page 05: Different characters that I took from my 'bank' to possibly include them in the story as 'extra' characters. Raven, Vaël and Serena would be Lola's friends. Steven would be a 'friend/acquaintance' of Zak. I'll tell you more about Steven.
