hello everyone and happy Thursday! we're almost done with this week and I can't wait for the weekend to arrive; do you have any fun plans coming up?

I hereby present you our May (ugly) sketchbook tour + all the references I used. This month I had so much fun for three main reasons:

1. I went on an Art Retreat/Camp and it was glorious. As soon as I was done with breakfast I'd take my sketchbook out and I'd start drawing right away. As I was drawing I was listening and getting to know everyone and their experiences; we'd talk about freelancing, art struggles, mental health, social media, so it was almost as having a live podcast on the background : .. ) it was so so nice

you can see all of the drawings I did during the Art Camp in this post!

2. I tried something new! A couple of weeks ago my friend Ocean did this hair and upload a picture. There was something about gray hair I felt so drawn to, so I HAD TO DRAW IT. I thought "what if I do a larger scale this time?" and so I tried.

I'm not going to lie ma loves, breaking the "pattern" was scary. I kept thinking "what if I don't like it, what if I miss the scale or it's not centered" but that's the point of having an ugly sketchbook! it's okay to make mistakes!

I'm so happy I tried cause I really like it and I wanna keep doing big portraits. Drawing the hair was the most meditative thing : - )

3. I filmed a REEL of me drawing the last page in this tour + sharing my fav art supplies, make sure to watch it when you have time!

I hope you liked this month's tour! As always please find attach a zip. file with all pages; I beg you do not copy, re-trace, sell or reproduce in any way these pages, they're for personal use only!

*Please accept this friendly challenge to do something new (and maybe scary) with your art/sketchbook*

I hope you have a lovely Thursday/weekend aheaaad!
