Neurodivergent person here ❤️ I think the easiest way to understand masking is that it’s kind of the neurodivergent person’s version of “passing”. Our stakes aren’t necessarily as high (we don’t have to do it for physical safety, for example) but certainly it’s a way of fitting in with the dominant group. I still often feel like I need to mask in a lot of social and professional situations. A lot of people just don’t understand my quirks and might take it personally, etc. ❤️

Interesting.. How so? I read on a Reddit sub a whole thing about her having an eating disorder. It was a very respectful conversation among people who themselves have had an ED. I am fascinated by her. Apple pay? Do they have change in this country too? I also read that her full name is Neveah. That explains everything

Also neurodivergent person here! ❤️ I'd like to add that for a lot of us it can be very hard to unmask (and vice versa) especially when you have been doing it for so long. I got my autism diagnosis late (mid twenties) and have been trying to unmask in some situations. It has bitten me in the arse a bit. It can be hard to find the right balance. Ah well. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I definitely thought Matilda sprayed perfume in her own ears and maybe behind Niles’s, and it bothered me too. She also sprayed A LOT. Im not autistic but I am super sensory-sensitive and it made me wonder if Niles wanted to die from the hideous smell like I would.
