So we're going to be migrating to our new computer in the next few days--so I've been cleaning up the old desktop and finding old sound files and early experiments from 2018 and 19 when I was feeling out ideas for the show. I came across this from May of last year where I was getting my feet wet laying out the different types of ambient sound effects and drones that roll in the background of each episode. People had asked if they could get copies of the actual soundscapes of the show and I'd intitally said nah--but I figure this one I can give y'all. It's creepy and haunty and dissonant in places--but I figure some DMs and people running games might want this for their tabletop campaigns and stuff. Enjoy.

This is my kind of music. I mostly listen to soundtracks (lot of horror) when I write or paint so the emotions and energies help with my work but have no lyrics getting in the way of those ideas. Would love to have an album of The Old Gods music some day.

This here is the mark of providence, Family. My partner is running a one-shot session of D&D tomorrow based on another horror podcast (The Magnus Archives, for the curious) and this is just the ambient track she was looking for! Thank you kindly for this timely gift, Steve. We'll put it to good use... for a given value of "good."

That'll be absolutely perfect for our campaign on the curse of Strahd! Thanks so much

Yes an album of Old Gods music ..

FaeCreature

this is the kind of stuff I like writing to. If you ever drop an hour long YouTube video of OldGods soundscape or an album or anything, please let me know. I love it.

I’ve been looking for a podcast just like this! “Ambient horror” or “abstract horror.” Something that can creep me out without having to pay attention to a story. I would pay for an extra tier to have a podcast of just stuff like this.

There's an artist named 'uncertain' (google "uncertain bandcamp") who makes ritual soundscapes you might enjoy
