I got the model completely finished (or, at least, I finished the rooms I needed), and I just finished taking all the reference shots I'll need to finish the comic.  I've uploaded a selection of some of them here so you can see what it looks like, and why I think the effort on these models is worth it.  The pink and orange objects you can see in some of the frames are height/position references I can use, to try and make sure I'm positioning the camera and adjusting the FOV correctly.  Since I know Kian and Makwa's heights (6ft3 and 5ft10) I can put those markers about where they should be standing in the shot, get their head roughly aligned with the 9 inch head sphere, and generally be in the ballpark so I can start fine tuning things.
