Forgoing panel lines can help with more action-ey pages or pages where everything that's happening is sort of supposed to be contained in one particular moment of time. We thought it most appropriate here. :)

Aren't the prey's hooves supposed to be colored?

They are, but the color variation is slight, so with the shading in place it's hard to tell the difference between the two tones. :)
