I had worked with Cynthia a couple of times before, but always in a workshop setting. This was when she was just starting out in modelling, and before the pandemic. We kind of lost touch.

Then a while ago I found out she was Terere's flat mate, and they lived in central Victoria. So I arranged a trip to the Goldfields region to shoot both of them. Clashes with their regular jobs meant I had to shoot Cynthia on Saturday night and Tenere Sunday Morning. This was my first chance to work with Cynthia 1 on 1. The location was an old miner's cabin.

Given the location and Cynthia’s look, I asked her to bring a country girl outfit - jeans, boot and flannel shirt.

When I arrived at the location I noticed that a large pine tree had  fallen over just outside the cabin - fortunately it feel away from the building! It looked like a great location to start, but we had to be  quick because we started a bit late and we were losing the light. (These  were shot with natural light, of course.)

After shooting next to the tree, we moved to the porch of the miner’s cabin and shot with flash lighting. I had brought a  mandolin with me, as I thought that would enhance the country girl  theme.

Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. First half is natural light, second is light from a Godox AD200pro flash in a 60cm umbrella, with a Nikon SB-800 speedlight providing some fill light on the background.
