From a workshop at a nearby studio, Kim came to show off her fire working skills. For obvious reasons we did this outside in the car park!

Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Long exposure (0.5 to 1 second) combined with flash lighting - the flash freezes Kim in place while the long exposure picks up the fire trails. Flash light is from two Godox AD200pro portable flashes, mounted in an AD-B2 bracket that combines them to make a single 400 W/s flash.

The technique is to start by getting ISO and Aperture right to nicely expose the fire trails - you don't want to overexpose them or they lose their colour. Similarly you want to make sure your exposure time allows for a good trail, but not so long that the ambient light makes the background too bright. Then add flash and adjust brightness to make the model visible.
