Final version post

Here are all the steps taken to create the lastest reward for Miles! This one has had many revisions in the early stages.

  • 1- Early sketch: The 1st sketch I made was involving a lot more perspective originally, but after the first revision we had to scrap this one because it didn't show enough of the characters and had more enphasis on the background
  • 2- Second sketch: The 2nd sketch I did was a lot more in terms with what the patreon wanted but this one still had some issues that needed to change, specifically involving Tails.
  • 3- Sketch tweaks 1: Then I redrew the sketch for Tails, trying to follow the directions of the Patreon.
  • 4- Sketch tweaks 2: The redrew him again while also changing Toriels sketch
  • 5- Sketch tweaks 3: And again
  • 6- Final sketch: Finally we settled for the following sketch, where Toriel is interacting with Tails in a different way.
  • 7- Lineart: After figuring out everything, I do the clean lines for all the characters and the blanket (who will be drawn using the same principles as the characters)
  • 8- Flat colors: I add the base colors to every character and the blanket.
  • 9- Overlapping layer: Then I add an extra set of layers duplicating the boob and hand section of the Toriel character, so it looks like they're interacting properly.
  • 10- Gradients: Then I add all simple gradients to simulate some sort of lightning quickly.
  • 11- Background -Bases: Now for the Background, I start working on it separately, and in doing so I start drawing all the proper bases for all the elements in it (plant pot, carpet, floor, walls)
  • 12- BG- Gradients and details 1: After doing so, I add gradients to the floor and carpet, then proper shading on the walls and pot.
  • 13- BG- Gradients and details 2:Then I proceed to include all the necessary details to all the elements I initially created.
  • 14- BG- Bed base: Now I create the base for the bed, all on top of the former background.
  • 15- BG- Bed details: Then I move on to the proper details for the bed, Including all the creases and folds you'd get when laying in it.
  • 16- Char/BG integration: I put the characters and the bg together to see if they fit well.
  • 17- Environment shadows: After double checking the integration, I set up several new layers on multiply with all the shadows the background and the characters create.
  • 18- Char. Shading: Then I move on to the cell shading for the actual characters, (3 layers, two for shadows and 1 for hightlighs) each character gets their own set of layers, including the blanket, these layers are colored accordingly to the background. I also took the time to color the lineart!
  • 19- Extra elements: Then I take the time to create (in several extra layers) all the other elements that were asked originally (yes this is a very spicy drawing)
  • 20- Extra details: I proceed to add even further details to all the elements. Like shading on the body fluids and blushies, among other things.
  • 21- Final touches: Finally, I add a set of extra layers adding some lightning effects, like glow and saturation.
    And Voila! Reward finished!
