Hey everyone! Here's the illustration I've been working on this month! Once again it took longer than I wanted it to. But I'm not too displeased with how it turned out! I tried to use a more limited color palette than I normally do and I think it worked out pretty well.

Check out the clean version HERE.

I also feel like I learned a few useful things throughout the process. For example, I finally discovered how the Divide layer blend mode works. You know how you can use Multiply to add shadows? Divide is basically Multiply in reverse (which I should have figured out sooner based on their names, haha). You can use Divide to add light into a scene in the same way you would add shadows with Multiply. And if you use the exact same color on Divide as you used on Multiply, it restores the color back to how it was before you used Multiply. I recommend trying it out! Adding light is something I often use Overlay, Color Dodge or Linear Dodge to achieve, but those don't always give the result I want, so it feels nice to have figured out another blend mode that can help with this.

Those of you who get the video in the rewards will also notice I'm playing around a tiny bit with a new color picker plugin in Photoshop. It's called Prisma Palette and it's a plugin that automatically figures out which color you need your lights and shadows to be based on the key light color and ambient light color you set up in the plugin. I'm very impressed with it so far.

The rewards for this picture will be sent out in about a week. Thanks a lot for your support, everyone! :D

Holy moly 😲! Absolutely fantastic work as usual 😄! The detail in the background is exquisite, I particularly like the textures of the walls, the folds of the curtains, the blue sky and contrasting warm toned clouds with trees beneath as well as the flowing, meandering folds of the sheets they lie on and shadows that separate the forms. As for the characters, they are magnificent, the contrast between the cool-toned man and warm ladies is great. The detail and rendering of their anatomy is utterly superb, I especially like the musculature of his shoulder, arm and chest as well as the shoulder and arm of the horned lady. Her hair is fantastic and I particularly like how her horn wraps around her long ear, her expression is marvellous too with the way her lips wrap around the... shaft 😉 and I really like the foreshortening of her body with the curving contours of her bum and thighs behind her. The other lady is sensational too with her wonderful grin and sideswept hair, the way she wraps her and fingers around the lucky guy and the magnificent contours and forms of her bum, thigh and flowing calf. And it has to be mentioned, the rendering of the "fluid" is fantastic with how it wraps around the top girl's bum and is smeared all over the face of the other, he makes quite the mess, doesn't he? 😆😈 Absolutely brilliant work once again, Calm 😁👏.

Thanks, Ciaran! I'm happy to hear you enjoy it. :D I suspect he was engineered specifically to make a mess, heheh.

It's great that you challenge yourself. Pushing your boundaries and constantly learning new things. Also the willingness and passion in sharing the process you went through in learning something new. Thank you. It's appreciated. I'll be trying out your tips and tricks when they come up in my own work. I'll have to try out the palette in the future. Great work on the execution of this illustration with the limited colour scheme. I look forward to the video process. 😁. Keep it up!

Love it :) And thanks for the Photoshop tips! I hadn't thought to use Divide that way.

Oh my! When I received the email, I just stared at the picture, with the same feeling I got when I looked at Renaissance paintings. Lighting, folds, skins are exquisite. Your choice of colors is really remarkable
