New link (ver 3.5)*: https://picrew.me/secret_image_maker/4q6qe4WsSAbd7fJh (link updated 13/6/2023)

Changes:

  • 17 new skin tones
  • A different artstyle(lineless) has been applied in order to prevent people from image tracing and extracting the line
  • Every single items has been re-positioned and redrawn in an alternative style and readjusted colours.
  • The default body shape has been changed. It is now less skinny, and slightly more toned.
  • Hair assets are now easier to combine, with less clipping issues.
  • Some of the hair assets have linked colours, which would make changing hair colours a little bit less of a hassle.
  • New assets added, such as fishnet shirts, more ear options, and more colour options for hair and eyes.
  • Less popular assets removed in order to make space for other assets.
  • Assets with major technical issues removed in order to make space for other assets.
  • Items are now more consistently categorised.
  • New icons and thumbnails.

We do understand that the current artstyle may not be as appealing as the one used before. However, using this particular style was an attempt to fix some of the major problems the previous version had and to experiment for future projects.

This project was originally launched with the intention of giving people a tool to make 'reference images' for their characters, not a perfectly polished artwork. Please feel free to use this editor if you ever need reference images to send artists you're commissioning to illustrate your character(s).

Heya, not sure if you are still working on this at all, but if you are do you think you could add some 'Punk' hairstyles? I'd really like to give my charactera mohawk.

G0966

hello, thank you for the suggestion. adding hairstyles can take a long time due to the range of colours, but I'll try!

Anonymous

Thanks! I hope it goes well.

G0966

Thank you for the wait! 7 different mohawk hair styles have been added to this editor. You'll have to scroll all the way down to find them. I hope this helps!

Love the picrew! I do also miss the style of the original version, would it be possible for us to access that too as patrons?

you are my favorite picrew designer!

AbsurdToastling

I'm torn because I loved the original one, and prefer the lined style, but I like some of the tweaks and additions for this one. Either way, they both remain my favorite picrews by far, so thanks for sharing <:

G0966

Thank you for still using it! We do understand that most people prefer the lined artstyle. Unfortunately there had been cases where people extract the lineart from the previous version to claim it as their own sketches.

Carson

Thanks a ton for bringing this back! While I definitely personally preferred the original art style, this is still equally helpful for visualizing characters, and I definitely understand why you did it this way instead. I will be using this a ton for visualizing new D&D characters and NPCs!!

I agree with Carson above, but I do hope someday the original lined version will make a comeback. As someone with eye issues, the lined version was easier to work with. Thank you for the work you do

this looks so good !!! i'm joining a new rpg campaing and i went to look for this picrew but found it was deleted i was so sad 😔 but im really happy i could find it here!!! i love all the options so much ! i miss some of the armor options, but nonetheless, its great, thank you for such great tool !!!!!! 💖

ScripWriter

i really love this picrew, its one of my absolute favorites!! i actually prefer the lineless artstyle a lot, it makes combining the different hair options a lot easier! i was wondering, though, the link isn't working for me anymore. i refreshed the page a few times, just in case i had somehow gotten here just before an update, but it says it was updated today and still the link isn't working. am i doing something wrong?

G0966

The link should work properly now. Thank you for letting us know!

I love this! I was wondering if it would be possible to make the scale option different though? I love using it for making characters who have patches of scales, but it does make it look like the scales are made of their flesh and not of a scale material, since the colour chosen impacts the outline of them and not the fill colour. Would that be a possible option, down the line?

G0966

Thank you for using this one! The only solution to this right now would be to put a border around the scale assets and recolour them. I'll try to do that soon!

Thank you so much, I appreciate it!! I'm glad that there's a way to use your generators still, they're my favourite for making NPCs for a campaign that I run, there's so many great options!!

Crisolenos

Any chance you could add some lighter fantasy colors? Like a more vivid pink skin color?

G0966

18 new skin tones, 3 of them being different shades of pink, have been added to the editor. Thank you for your suggestion.

Hello! Just wondering if it's possible to put some fae/fairy features like butterfly wings, antennae, and the like, if possible? Also, perhaps something like more robotic features?

G0966

Hello, thank you for the suggestion. I am not very capable of drawing robotic features, but fairy features are doable. I'll try to add them on my next day off from work. Thank you!

Anonymous

Alright, got it, thank you so much! :D I'd love to commission you one day, too, if possible!

G0966

Two sets of butterfly wings and antennas have been added. Sample images are shown above. Thank you for your patience!
