Whenever I get the chance to shoot for this series, I get elated about it. It has been over two months since I had picked up a camera and pointed it at a lady and god damn did it feel good. There was such a void in my life without creating and I was so happy to have my first day back to shooting be with my amazing friend Lu.

Lu had told me that she had a Sunday free, so I moved around my schedule to accommodate. The plan; Lu to shoot up to Los Angeles from Long Beach, shoot for Jeans and then jet out to Joshua Tree. When she first arrived, Lu was greeted with cold brew coffee, a social distant hello from me and a warm loving welcome from Kylea. The first time Kylea met Lu she fell in love, Lu's presence is just so comforting and loving that my pup immediately picked up on that. We started the day off right with a catch up. Lu and I had not seen each other in months so we had plenty to talk about. Lockdown, quarantine and the virus were most of what we first started with. I feel as if that is all that everyone is going to be able to talk about first when they see one another. It will be the new talk of Los Angeles, before it was traffic, tacos, hiking and doughnuts; now it is viruses and how long you have been in quarantine.

As Lu sipped her morning coffee, Kylea wiggled around in front of her still with excitement and I pulled down my grey seamless to get ready for our first look of the day. Lu mentioned that she brought her favorite jeans, which is the key component to this series and she also mentioned that they were black. She said that she was worried that it would not work for the series, but I told her that it does not matter the color of the jeans, the point is that they are your favorite pair. Lu slipped into her favorites, I grabbed my gear, she took her top off and I got to click my first shutter in too long of a time.

It is like riding a bike. Everything came sprawling back to me. Lighting, directing, camera settings, the flow; I was overjoyed and on cloud nine. We shot quickly because I wanted to be on the road to Joshua Tree by 11A.M. so we captured the few key shots I absolutely loved, packed out things and got on the road. Enjoy!
