I love the idea of henchfolk and hirelings. In earlier editions of the game, they were a great way of rounding out a small party, but they've fallen out of fashion somewhat now.

We first released a supplement about Henchfolk & Hirelings back in the good old days of 2011 and I was delighted we could readdress the subject this month. I hope you can find a place in your characters' adventuring party for at least one of the NPCs in this week's 20 Things release.

And remember, the monthly 20 Things release is free to you as a thank you for your awesome support!

Your Prefered Game Poll

Thank you for voting in last week's poll. The results have been fascinating. I'll be comparing them to last year's poll, and will report back on my findings next week.

Where's My Stuff?

By the time you get this, you should have a message from me containing the special secret download codes for this week's book and this week's Monstrous Lair remaster. (Monstrous Lair #13: Aboleth's Sunken Lair* benefits from our new updated layout and text file enhancement.) Just drop them into your browser, and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, drop me a line, and I'll sort it out for you.

*What's not to love above aboleths?

Thank You

Thank you for supporting Raging Swan Press in 2022. I hope you like this week’s books and that you can use them to have more gaming fun with your chums. I love the Monstrous Lair line, and I hope you find it as enjoyable and useful as I do.

Your support enables us to continue doing what we love—creating flavoursome and detailed supplements designed to help you (and me) run campaigns with less hassle and stress. I hope they make your campaigns better and your prep time less stressful.

Finally, it should come as no surprise at all that Everything is Better with Tentacles—particularly henchfolk (who for bonus points could have invisible tentacles and aboleths who should just have more tentacles!
