Tenzin isn't related to Korra at all. I think you have forgotten that the Avatar is reincarnated into a different person, so Tenzin isn't Korra's uncle.

Hey my friend! By the end I figured it out. I thought I heard earlier in the episode that Katara was her grandma so I started thinking Tenzin was her uncle. Slight misunderstanding lol
