What you witnessed at the end of the episode is a process called regeneration. It means that everything you thought you knew about The Doctor has changed, right down to getting a new face and personality, but it's still The Doctor, more or less. Christopher Eccleston is the ninth actor to play The Doctor and David Tennant is the tenth. At the time I'm writing this, 13 different actors in the almost 60 years since Doctor Who first premiered has played The Doctor with a 14th waiting for the first appearance. A very excellent reaction you shared and I'm willing to bet that there's a lot of people who can't wait for you to watch the next full episode.
