Usually the first 2 episodes of any given season don't feature any changes to the show's intro because the new aspects of the new season haven't been introduced yet, like the School, the "student six," etc. So they'd be spoilers at that point I believe there are some new changes starting in ep 3 of season 8

I can't speak for others, but from what I've read, people in the autism community have sort of interpreted both Maud and Mudbriar as characters on the autism spectrum, or perhaps with asperger's syndrome. Both characters have demonstrated that they struggle to pick up on social cues, so they can come off as a bit abrasive without meaning to or realizing it. I don't really like Mudbriar all that much as a character compared to Maud, who I find to be oddly charming, but that might just be because I'm predisposed to be attracted to quirks in female characters that I would find annoying in male characters. Also, as a character, he's just really underdeveloped and one-dimensional compared to Maud. But I can sorta relate to Mudbriar a little bit in that I'm bothered by imprecise speech, bad grammar, misinformation, etc. But I try to actively stifle those parts of my personality when I'm around people I don't know very well, because I know it annoys most people. But at least in how the writers characterize Mudbriar, he's just oblivious to how he affects other people, which may just be because he struggles to realize it, and the episode doesn't go deep enough to demonstrate a willingness to try to learn that skill. As for his name... I think it's a little unfair to be mad about what someone's parents named them. =P

I too didn't like this episode watching it the first couple of times. But Mudbriar grew on me eventually.

Mud brier is just like maud pie that why they get along you cant except everyone to be always happy like pinkie and mudbriars dullness is perfect with pinkies over the top exitedness cuz she doesn’t understand him. Idk I just love them together their perfect sticks and stones may break pinkies bones but nothing will break them apart

I'm not fond of Mudbriar, but I learned to tolerate him for Maud's sake. However, as others have pointed out, he's Autistic. He has little to no control over how he acts, so he most certainly isn't an asshole.

I agree with you that Maud's boyfriend is very odd and he doesn't act much like most people. Way early on I taught the exact same thing about Maud. I was even refusing to watch episodes with her. However after a while, I gave her a fair try. Now I think she is hilarious and I love every episode she is in. The exact same thing happened to me for Mudbriar. Let's see what you think about him later on. Sometimes it's not easy to judge a character by just one 20 min episode. :) It's your right to keep hating him, if your mind doesn't change tho.

yeah first time watching this I couldn't stand him even if he was suppose to be a representation of sheldon from big bang theory. but he does grow on you as you watch him more sadly he'll never get the screen time needed to fully develop his character but you do learn to tolerate him more as time goes on.
